Immaculate, cozy and convenient. The Whalan cottage afforded this family of four + dog the opportunity to obtain the perfect balance of fun and relaxation. Every morning started with a walk to either the rocky shore behind Aunt Carrie’s or the lighthouse. One morning, we drove out to the lighthouse to watch the distant thunder storm move across the ocean. Most of our days were spent relaxing or bodysurfing at Narragansett Beach. A ferry trip to Block Island to moped and shop was a thrill for our teenagers. Whether it was eating out takeout from Iggy’s or barbequing on the grill, we enjoyed every meal on the deck. We spent our evenings playing Scrabble or Yahtzee on the breezeway, retiring early each night in the comfortable beds. We have rented often but this cottage is a real winner and what a treat it was when we did not have to lug the bed linens and towels back and forth. In all of our correspondence with Bill, he was prompt, polite and a pleasure to deal with. Thank you Bill for a peaceful vacation.

This was a great vacation house for myself, my husband and our Yorkie. We had a very nice week with the weather and being in a nice clean pet friendly house made it all the better! Fabulous location, close to everything. The owner was easy to work with and provided everything needed to have a great stay. Will absolutely come again! My husband, myself and our small dog just returned home from a week's vacation in this perfect 2 BR home. I had researched pet friendly places and found several - but this place was absolutely PERFECT for our needs!

First off - the owner couldn't have been more accommodating. The pictures you see on the website are spot on. The first impression when you walk in the door is how clean and neat it is. Furnishings very light and airy - and you just feel that sense of serenity. Loved the sunroom - that was our "spot" each morning,

There is nothing that isn't provided for - down to linens, kitchen utensils for cooking, ice trays filled up in freezer. You name it - it's there. (only small thing we noticed - is that we wanted to reheat something in the oven and didn't see an actual pan to heat something up other than in microwave!) All the modern conveniences of home. Nice little backyard for small pet. Location - couldn't be better. You can actually walk to the beach but we chose to drive. Close to everything - shops, restaurants, beaches. On secluded side road - but in perfect location. Owner gave tons of recommendations as to where to eat, shop, etc. Customer service at it's finest! Nice High Def TV!

We were a bit surprised that it was $28 to get on the beach (per car) on wknds and $20 for the day (wkdays)....but after awhile - we got used to it! You can go to Salty Brine Beach for only $10 - but you truly do get "what you pay for" - we liked Roger Wheeler the best! We pretty much hit Aunt Carrie's every night for ice cream after dinner - as it is so close.

Day trips - we enjoyed the village of Wickford more than anywhere....charming little town w/ tons of cute shops. Went to Newport, East Gloucester, Wakefield, PeaceDale. The traffic to/from Newport was heavy - as it was the end of Folk Festival week - which we didn't know. Next time - we plan to do Providence and day trip to Mystic. Just didn't have enough days to do it all and still feel like you were relaxing and not in car every day!

Thanks again Bill for a great week - you were most gracious to us from the beginning down to the end of our actual vacation. I would recommend your place to anyone visiting Narragansett - and hope that not too many find out about your beautiful little home! (but I guess I just blew that, huh?) lol
