This cabin was so awesome-secluded and really just what we were hoping for-the owners are so accommodating. We had plenty of dishes, cooking supplies and spices! We are coming back!
My husband and I wanted to get out of the heat for a few days, but didn't want a long drive. Jenny's cabin was wonderful. Secluded but yet close enough to Pine if you needed something. First day we arrived it was raining (which we loved) and then the weather was great. Went hiking up behind cabin up to road; drove into Pine and Strawberry; but mainly relaxed at the cabin. Saw two deer and an elk. We can't wait to go back again. Would definitely recommend this cabin to anyone wanting to get away for a weekend without having to drive hours to get to location.
This cabin was perfect for my family of 8. We were looking for a truly wooded location and this was just that. Although there are a couple visible neighboring cabins, they are far away enough with plenty of forest in between. There are plenty of comfortable beds, linens, dishes and cook wear. Very dog friendly. The kids explored the forest and hiked Water Wheel and The Natural Bridge. We loved hanging out on the nice decks, fire pit area and the hammock. It backs right up to the forest with great views. The rental process was one of the easiest so far and there truly are no hidden fees. You do have to clean it up and leave it the way you found it and haul away your trash, but for us it was no problem. We enjoyed not having a cleaning fee! We can't wait to come back. Thank you Dick and Jenny for sharing your cabin with us. Oh and FYI the cabin looks much better in person...the pictures really do not convey how adorable it is.
This was an amazing place. So very "homey" with everything you need. The owners really bent over backwards to make sure we were happy. If you want rustic cabin seclusion...this is the place.
My family and I stayed in the Henkhaus cabin over 4th of July weekend. We picked it because it was close to Payson and would allow us to explore some other areas of interest like The Tonto Natural Bridge, Fossil Creek, etc. The cabin is nestled in the woods and very quiet. We enjoyed watching the monsoon rain from the porch and our children loved catching bugs and exploring the creek nearby. Inside the cabin, there was coffee in the fridge for our first day and everything we could need. When we had something unexpected happen, Dick quickly got back to us and we were able to resolve it quickly. We appreciated his customer service and attention to detail. I would highly recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a great place to escape and enjoy the outdoors.
My Daughter asked to do something special for her 16th Birthday rather than have a party. Since her birthday is in the winter, we thought a ittle snow play would be fun. I wanted someplace that her and her 3 friends she brought with her could walk right out back to play in the snow and then come in and sit by the fire. This was the perfect place. From the beginning, the Owner Richard was so nice and accomidating on the phone. My husband and I took 4 16 year old girls up to the cabin. The loft was perfect for them as there was 4 twin beds and a bathroom. It was an all-night slumber part for them! They had a blast roasting marshmallows in the fireplace on the deck and watching the deer in the morning. We did have snow, but it was starting to melt, so we chose to drive 15 miles to get to a hill where they could sled. Howevere the girls mainly chose to explore the forest outside of the cabin. The Kitchen was fully stocked with cookware, spices and basics to cook for them. There were plenty of blankets and pillows for the cold nights, and even the bathroms were stocked wth samples and bottles of everything you coud think of. The kids loved the selection of board games and movies and I as amazed we could be so secluded yet ony a few miles from town. It was such a cozy and comfy cabin with beautiful scenery. None of the kids wanted to leave and all of them asked if we could stay one more night. My husband and I want to bring the whole famly back we had had such a good time!!! Thank you Richard for your Kindness and opening up your cabin to us. we will be back.
We stayed up at the cabin for a short trip but while we were there the kids had a blast. The cabin is well secluded in the woods and had everything we needed.. The kids built a fire in the indoor fireplace and the outside fireplace and we roasted hot dogs and smores. Well stocked, very clean, and very very quiet.. It was an awesome experience for us 'city folks'....I would highly recommend this cabin..Mark and Tami Yarbrough..
Pine Arizona is 83 miles NE of Scottsdale, (13 miles north of Payson). This area is nestled along The Mogollon Rim & and the cabin sits on an acre and half of lush forest that backs to the Tonto National Forest . If you enjoy relaxing in the outdoors and would like to take a break to be alone or reconnect with your family/friends, come visit the charming town of Pine Arizona. Plenty of hiking, fishing, horseback riding, yoga, massage, or just read a book on the deck. The small town provides the right amount of restaurants, antique shops, and seasonal town festivals. Sedona is approx. 65 miles from Pine-a great day trip to take !
