Located on the banks of the Deschutes River and the foothills of the Cascade Mountains, Bend is a Year Long Vacation Paradise. Bend is noted for it's scenic setting with the high desert to the east and the forests and mountains to the west. It boasts 300 days of sun a year and provides a multitude of activities within a 30 mile radius. The downtown and Old Mill Districts are well knows for their shops, restaurants, bars, galleries, and special events. Les Schwab Outdoor Amphitheatre is a short distance from the Blue Moon Bungalow and has a wide variety of concerts thruout the summer. The very popular High Desert Museum is just a few miles away, and the Pine Mountain Observatory is nearby for the Stargazers. 18 miles west is the historic western town of Sisters with it's art galleries, shops, restaurants, ranches, and beautiful views of the mountains.
Spring, Summer & Fall Outdoor Activities: Bend is considered the outdoor recreation capital of Oregon. Very few Vacation Destinations can boast such a variety of things to do for the whole family. Come enjoy Golfing, Whitewater Rafting, Canoeing, (boat, canoe & kayak rentals), Hiking, Bicycling, Mountain Biking, Motorcycle and Scooter Rentals, Rock Climbing, Fishing, Hunting, Ballooning, Helicopter Tours, Horseback Riding, and many different types of tours.
Winter Outdoor Activities: Beautiful Mount Bachelor, which is one of the most highly rated ski resorts in the West, is located 20 miles away. Don't worry about driving - take the shuttle bus from town. While there you can enjoy downhill and cross country skiing, as well as snowboarding - with an abundance of trails for all ages and levels. Fabulous views abound from the top of the ski lifts. The Inn of the 7th Mountain on the way to Mt. Bachelor has a wonderful public ice skating rink.
