Old Saybrook Vacation Rental cottage

I have just returned from a week spent in this home and it was terrific! The home was BETTER than described, the owner was readily available should any problems arise and had excellent communication throughout the entire reservation process, and we found everything in the house exactly as they said it should be. We were concerned that the home would be quite small, but we found it to be more than roomy for our family of four adults. We also found, much to our surprise, that the owners had provided everything we would need during our stay: paper towels, toilet paper, shampoo/conditioner, garbage bags, laundry detergent, etc. The beds were comfortable and there was expanded cable on the televisions. The outdoor space was wonderful and very nicely-maintained. We walked to the beach every day and the walk never took us longer than 3-4 minutes; the Cornfield Point beach was beautiful and kept clean from debris and we also never found it very crowded as there is another public beach just a short trip down the road. The home was only a 5-10 minute drive from downtown, restaurants, shopping, and grocery store. The neighbors were quite friendly and didn't seem to mind us "tourists" at all! The owners also provided travel brochures and magazines for our use while there. If you find yourself visiting Old Saybrook, make sure to visit the USS Nautilus in Groton (only a 25 minute drive) as well as Mystic. Both were spectacular and much enjoyed by everyone in our party! Also, enjoy a meal at Lenny & Joe's Fish Tale in Westbrook, Bill's Seafood, or the Pennylane Pub on Main Street. The Parthenon Diner has the best cheesecake I've ever eaten. Steer clear, however, of the New Deal Steakplace and the Cuckoo Nest mexican joint. No one in our party enjoyed either one. Also, ask the owner to send you a photo of the porch of this home - it was our favorite part of the house and will seal the deal if you're considering renting!
