Family getaway

Our extended family of three adult couples and one year olds (3) had plenty of room in this villa. It really doesn't set up too well for babies as there were no high chairs or cribs but we made do. (One caveat- the golf balls were a real hazard. Golfers hitting their 2nd shots on the 17th fairway were often hitting the condos or landing in our back patios. Yes, one ball did graze our guest. The villa is just as described, roomy, clean and centrally located to sightseeing, Old San Juan and beach. (The beach is not for swimming as it's too protected from the waves and too shallow. The villa pool is a one minute walk away with a children's play area and tennis courts. The walk to the Embassy Suites is a 9 minute walk. We played golf at the on site course and were thrilled with it. Great layout and it keeps you on your toes! At $102 it's a bargain compared to the Dorado courses which we did play. The East was $196. We played it in the wind so I really can't say it was bad but I wouldn't go out of my way to play it again. The Pineapple and Sugarcane were enjoyable courses and at $117 or so with add'l play free (cart charge extra) preferrable. Our two favorite restaurants were the Tratorria DeNando next to the Grande foodstore and one just next to the public beach, Antojitos Del Kitrinche, great local food and fresh fish. The Amigo food store is much superior to the Grande. The owner was very professional and extremely helpful regarding our stay. She really wanted to make sure that our stay was pleasant. Enjoy your trip.
