Gorgeous Shingle Style Arts and Crafts Cottage in Bayside Maine. Located on a half acre lot with varied small ocean glimpses through the trees. Lots of space to play, run, sit in the sun, read, or nap, this two bedroom, one bath cottage is simply wonderful. Built by Frederick Cottrell, a local shipwright, between 1903 and 1907 as the caretaker's house to the oceanfront estate, Bohemia. The original living room is now a bedroom with a Queen sized bed. There are three rooms on the first floor: Two bedrooms separated by a large parlor and a hallway with closet and full bath. Off one bedroom is an open covered porch with wicker seating furniture. Downstairs is a larger family room with a Vermont Castings gas fireplace and comfortable furniture, TV, DVD player. Next is the large, workable kitchen with W/D. Off the kitchen is a screened in porch with round dining table and chairs, perfect for relaxing and dining outdoors. House comes with lots of books to read and enjoy!

Only about 300 feet from a public park with Ocean Access, the cottage is located in the Gingerbread Victorian Village of Bayside in Northport Maine. Within an hour's drive are the world class art museums (Colby College in Waterville and the Farnsworth and Center for Maine Contemporary Art in Rockland and Rockport. Hike in the Camden Hills State Park, whale watch off Acadia National Park for the day. Bring a boat and launch it at the Bayside pier, only a short walk. Golf at Northport Golf Club, a 10 minute walk. Shop and dine in Camden (8 miles) and Belfast (4 miles) Relax in the sun and have fun! Please note that the Google map marker is incorrect. The house is in Bayside Village and only about 2 10ths of a mile from the village pier and park.

  • A 200.00 dollar security deposit must be sent with rental payment. Deposit is refundable and will be returned after cottage inspection and within one week of the end of your rental term. Once you agree to rent the cottage, a 50% depoist must be paid within seven business days of agreement to rent. The rest of Rental payment, including 8.5% Maine Lodging tax is due at least 60 days prior to rental date. Cottage must be left in same condition in which it was found or a $75.00 cleaning charge will be assessed. Towels and sheets included in rental.

  • Dogs accepted with a $125 non-refundable dog fee per animal (max 2). Credit card accepted.

    Rentals run weekly from Saturday to Saturday. Check in after 3pm and check out by 10am

The screen porch is easily convertible to a sleeping porch with a full-height queen air mattress for one or two extra people. I have the mattress, just let me know.

Notes: I have just purchased Little Bohemia and am working to update the cottage and provide my guests with the ultimate relaxing vacation. This beautiful Arts and Crafts Cottage is very much a cottage in a family oriented cottage community. Lots of books and a TV with DVD but no cable. There are lots of woods and lawns for the kids to explore and the beach only 300 feet away with access from a public park. The house is perfect for one or two couples or a small family. Lots of privacy but also lots of together spaces. Make the most of this relaxing and sun filled cottage.

A Bayside retreat in Arts and Crafts style!

The 4 of us were so lucky to have found this wonderful cottage! The amenities are outstanding and the owners could not have been more helpful and accommodating. Located in a charming Bayside community, we traveled to the lovely surrounding towns of Belfast, Camden/Rockport, and Bar Harbor, to return to relaxation, dinners, and conversation on the screened porch. Rooms are tastefully appointed and the kitchen is well equipped. If or when you prefer not to cook, Belfast boasts some great restaurants and pubs, 3 Tides for happy hour and dinner, and Dudley's for breakfast were our favorites! Chilly nights are made cozy by the light and warmth of the decorative gas stove in the family room. Highly recommend! Thanks Seth!

Cozy, restful, relaxing

Four of us comfortably shared Little Bohemia, with enough privacy for both couples. We appreciated the well equipped kitchen and cottage-cozy decor. Ample towels and beach towels were a nice plus. Games and novels were thoughtfully there for adults and children in the event of a rainy day. Flowers in the bathroom welcomed us. A breezy, screened porch set the scene for dining and relaxing. This was the perfect Maine experience. Seth and Greg are considerate hosts and we'd definitely recommend Little Bohemia.

Perfect Paradise

Lovely cottage, lovely spot! We especially enjoyed the large screened porch, a rare treat in Bayside. The porch (with a nice large round table) easily accommodated dinner for 8. We also appreciated the owner allowing our "grand-doggie" to come visit for a few nights-- not many cottages in Bayside allow dogs anymore. The cottage feels more like a home, and the lawn and gardens provided a nice, serene setting that we thoroughly enjoyed. We have been coming to Bayside for about 15 years and have stayed at many cottages and this one might just be our favorite even though it is not on the water. Highly recommended!

Characterful perfectly located cottage

I stayed here with my husband and two small children and we thought it was an excellent spot. Bayside is a perfect location in a friendly, safe area with some good grassy play areas for children and some great views. Having never been to Maine before we weren't sure what to expect. It turns out that this cottage is cosier and far nicer than many others we might have rented so we felt very lucky. Seth provided superb customer service and was an excellent communicator. The cottage was in very good order with a very well stocked kitchen in terms of appliances etc and very welcoming and attractively decorated. It's not ideal if you have a child who is just learning to walk as the stairs may be tricky - I would thoroughly recommend Little Bohemia.

A Coastal Maine Gem

This cottage was the setting for one of the most fantastic family vacations ever. The cottage is fully equiped, beautifully decorated, and very comfortable. The yard is maticulously maintained and large enough for the kids to play. The screened in porch off of the kitchen is the perfect place to enjoy a family BBQ. Not to mention the gorgeous water front and the quaint, homey feel of beautiful Bay Side, Maine. Minutes from Belfast, another beautiful coastal town, rich with culture, art and full of great restaurants, with plenty of summer festivities. The owners were so accomidating and friendly. I would recommend this cottage highly to friends, family and anyone looking to escape to coastal Maine.
