We stayed at Casa Del Sol for 9 days (Sept 08) and didn't want to leave. The entire experience was absolutely wonderful. We were staying in the one bedroom suite and from the moment we walked in, we were speechless. We'll definitely be back again and again. What a place of solace...

A paradise in paradise!

We spent two unforgettable weeks at Casa Del Sol during the holiday season! The four of us stayed in the two bedroom suite which was spacious, luxurious, and with incredible ocean views (even from the shower!). The relaxed and friendly atmosphere, the easy access to all there is to do and see, the beautiful grounds and pool, the generous and gracious hosts made Casa Del Sol feel like a paradise in paradise! Thank you so much! We plan to stay with you again, and we hope that others will have the chance we had to vist the truly special Casa Del Sol and experience the magic of the Big Island of Hawaii.

2 bedroom NOT!

Very dissapointed when i arrived at Casa Del Sol on the 28th of January 2009. Was under the impression that i had rented a two bedroom unit! Our two bedroom unit was a living room with a single bed and and a couch in it. So unless you like having a kitchen and main bathroom in your bedroom knock yourself out! When i told the owner that i was dissapointed she basically just claimed she did not know what i was talking about and that is how all tropical homes are rooms within a room. However the main bedroom had a door on it. I would advise if you need only a one bedroom then worth the stay. Had i known that it was only a one bedroom unit i would have never booked there.
Owner's Response: Please read the description of the property before booking and please do not sneak 2 or more extra people in order to save yourself some money.

The Two bedroom suite is perfect for a family with 1 or 2 children and it is absolutely no perfect for two couples and 2 children which was the situation of the 'disappointed guests'...

And yes, it may look and sound strange to people living in the cold North that most tropical houses do have an open layout but that's the truth - in Hawaii kitchens and dining rooms do not have any doors.
