On the ridge of the hills between Lake Maggiore and Lake Orta, in an 18-century park, the Sartori family built a modern, prestigious country house for their own family vacations. Now this house is available to families and groups wanting to spend a holiday in a roomy, comfortable, particularly charming house. Villa Sartori offers 3 prestigious villas for different vacation solutions (browse our website 'Villagattico.it'). The Villa Padronale, is of course at the heart of the property, in terms of both position and importance. It measures about 250 square metres on each of the 3 floors and it is suitable for 8/10 pax. The Castellino (the Small Castle), is an old farm building that has been converted into a charming house that rises upwards to culminate in a turret offering a perfect spot for stargazing. Ideal for 4/6 pax. An old country house has been converted into the Casina Bianca, the Little White House, a dependence of the Villa, with its own lovely arcade-veranda (3/4 pax).

It is of course at the heart of the property, in terms of both position and importance; this is the country house the Sartori family traditionally came to on their vacations. This elegant contemporary villa, for 8/9 pax, was completed in 1971. It measures about 250 square metres on each floor. The basement is of course a utility area and contains one of the most popular rooms in the house: the tavern. The ground floor, 'living area', includes the entrance hall, double living room, dining room, study, kitchen, wardrobe, servant’s room and bathroom. On first floor there are 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. An old country house next to the driveway has been converted into Casina bianca, “the Little White House”, for 3/4 pax, wich is the Main Villa's Dependence (140 m2). The ground floor is now a living room with a kitchenette with a single-sofa-bed. On the first floor there are 2 bedrooms and a bathroom with a washing-maschine. The property is situated in the old square of the village Gattico. It is a small village situated in Piedmont (the region of Turin), in the province of Novara, not far from the southern point of the lake Maggiore (the lake of Locarno and Stresa). It is 70 km far from Milan, 110 km from Turin and 90 km from the Simplon Pass, border with Canton Vallese in Switzerland. By spending your holidays in Villa Sartori, you will have the possibility to discover the wonderful landscape of the Maggiore Lake with its Bella, Madre and Fishermen Islands, and the beautiful Orta Lake with its San Giulio island. Moreover, in maximum half an hour by car, you will reach Val d’Ossola and Val Sesia, two wonderful Alpine Valleys around the Rosa Mountain (4.634 m high) with many walk and ski areas. Near Villa Sartori there is the possibility to play golf in 5 beautiful Golf Clubs: Golf Bogogno (5 km from Gattico), Golf Castel Conturbia (10 km from Gattico), Golf Club des Iles Borromées, Alpino and Piandisole

Additional information about rental rates

  • Minimum rental two weeks. For three weeks rentals discount until 10%, for monthly rentals discount until 20%.
    For the weeks including Christmas, New Year's Eve and Easter the price is the same as in the High Season.

  • Deposit payable when booking equal to 20% of the rent due for the entire rental period (30% when renting less than one month).
    Full advance payment of rent to be settled either before the arrival at the House, either, latest, at the arrival by cash.
    Security deposit equal to one week’s rent (for rentals of less than one month), half a month (for rentals of one or two months), one month (for rentals from three to six months) or two months (for rentals over six months).
  • For rentals of one month or more, in addition, at the same time as the rent, tenants will be asked to pay for electricity and natural gas consumption as well as municipal garbage and recycling tax and contract registration fees. In all cases, final cleaning will be charged upon departure on the basis of the number of hours of work involved, at a rate of 10.00 euros per hour (minimum charge 250.00 euros).
    Services included :
    provision of linen and towels with change every 4/5 days;
    daily cleaning of bedrooms and bathrooms every 4/5 days, normally on the first Wednesday and on the follow Monday for stays of 2 weeks with arrival on Saturday or on Wednesday – Monday – Friday for longer stays (service made between 2 PM and 6 PM);
    weekly cleaning of the whole house (except kitchen);
    shared use of the pool (April - September);
    shared use of park; reserved parking.

Notes: Several arcades create natural links between the house and the garden. The fourth arcade is certainly one of the most popular parts of the house. It stands next to the dining room and the hallway leading to the kitchen, and it has a barbecue, a big stone table with enough stone benches and chairs to accommodate about ten people, as well as another wooden table with benches for ten more people. Across from the Villa is a beautiful swimming pool used exclusively by the people staying in the three houses. The pool measures 6.30 metres wide and 12.60 metres long, varying in depth from 110 centimetres to 2.80 metres, with a children’s slide and a spring diving board. The water in the pool is heated. Visitors can enjoy tanning in a large solarium with four sun beds hidden away from curious eyes.

The architect Robert von Hagge has designed two different courses of 18 holes par 72, combining the technical features of a top level course with the spectacular natural beauty of the surroundings. Golf Club Castelconturbia Agrate Conturbia (NO), 10 km from Gattico 27 holes Par 72 SSS 73. There are three courses - Red, Yellow and Blue - and each one is equally challenging. The various degrees of difficulty depend on the tee off area which makes it possible for the high handicap player to also enjoy these courses. Golf Club des Iles Borromées Brovello Carpugnino (VB), 20 km from Gattico, 18 holes Par 72 SSS 72. Situated in a beautiful alpine setting and on a clear day, one can see the skylines of Milan, Monate, Lago Maggiore and the Ticino Alps. The slopes and hazards of the course are natural features making the course demanding and fun. Golf Club Alpino Vezzo (VB), 25 km from Gattico, 9 holes Par 69 SSS 68. Set in the valleys of Vezzo by the side of the lake. The course is at 700 meters altitude. Nine holes filled with fascination and tradition. Golf Club Piandisole Premeno (VB) 55 km from Gattico, tel. 9 holes Par 68 SSS 67. Wonderful views of Lago Maggiore and of the mountain range of Monte Rosa and Monte Mischabel.
