Our family of five thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this house. The house was very clean and well stocked (linens, towels, kitchen utensils) and the beds were very comfortable. The kitchen is very large. We spent a lot of time in the family room, relaxing in front of the TV (which included a decent video collection for children) or coloring in the coloring books and playing with Play-Do (all of which was already there).
The sleeping arrangements were wonderful for the children. Bunk beds in the small bedroom and separate twin beds in the larger bedroom meant that our three children each had her own bed.
It took us approximately eight to 10 minutes to walk to Good Harbor Beach from the house, although people unencumbered by beach toys, umbrellas, and beach chairs can probably beat that time. The shed in the backyard actually has all of those items, and we made good use of the beach wagon to transport all of the above.
Some of the places we visited while in Gloucester included: Hammond Castle (in Gloucester), Rockport (a quaint town approximately 10 minutes north of Gloucester), Salem, and Boston (via the "T" commuter rail station in Gloucester).
The owners of the house were very friendly and reachable by phone and e-mail to answer questions about arrangements, the house, and the area. Overall, we had a wonderful time due, in large part, to the accommodations.
