We live in Phoenix, Arizona, have been married since 1990 and have two children (our son, now at ASU, and our daughter, still at home). Here we are outside the Grand Tetons north of Jackson, WY in summer 2011.

The Owner purchased this house in 2007

Kevin and a business partner purchased this Flagstaff home in late 2007, intending to remodel and then sell it. After the remodel was completed, they realized what a wonderful vacation home it would be for us and others as well! Working together, the two partners furnished and decorated it. In July 2009 we bought out Kevin’s partner. Now we stay as often as we can, making sure it's in good shape and trying to think of everything a guest would need to be comfortable.

People from all over the United States and the world travel to Flagstaff to see the Grand Canyon, Sedona, Monument Valley, Walnut Canyon and much more, and there's no doubt: This home is a great central hub and place to relax after a long day of sightseeing, hiking or skiing!

Perfect spot

My husband and I stayed at this beautiful home for six nights recently when we were in town from Phoenix for our son's wedding. It was just 5 minutes from our son's home and was very convenient for us. We were pretty busy the whole time we were there, but still appreciated that there were games, bicycles, tennis rackets, and a notebook FULL of things to do. While we didn't get to use those things much, we were VERY thankful for the nice comfortable beds and linens. We had a little cooking to do and the kitchen was well stocked, and there was even a little drawer with scotch tape, pens, scissors. We loved the beautiful park across the street and the quiet. It was spotlessly clean and comfortable. We hope we can go back again, although we don't often have 5 nights, which I believe is the minimum.

The listing is very accurate, with the photos depicting the home and surroundings very well. The home was perfect for our family. It was clean, well maintained, fully stocked, and even had two nice bicycles and other sports equipment. It is conveniently located, has a beautiful park/wilderness right across the street and provided a perfect home base for our day trips to the Grand Canyon, Sunset Crater loop, the Observatory and downtown. The owners were great to deal with and accommodated a last minute change of reservation date. I highly recommend this home.

We LOVED this home!

  • 5 of 5
We loved having this home to use as our base every day after hiking in the Grand Canyon, riding ATVs in Sedona and touring Antelope Canyon!
Before we left in the morning I would set the crock pot to cooking and when we arrived 'home' the children would run across the street and play tennis while we pulled dinner together! This listing had everything we needed and we would highly recommend you enjoy some time in Flagstaff. The home was clean and you could tell very well maintained. The owners had books and notebook with all the local spots to eat and visit. We loved that there was more than one 'living area' - so we could 'spread out' at the end of the day.
I had never heard of a 'whole house fan' being from Texas and was skeptical - but it was wonderful! We slept well in this home and would recommend this listing to everyone. (actually I have - and think we are planning on another trip next year!) Thank you again for working with our schedule (arriving on a Monday). My husband and I enjoyed walking around the neighborhood and everyone was so friendly. Take the tour at the Lowell Observatory the guide was passionate and fun. Lower Antelope Canyon (Ken's tours) were so fun and informative - one of the favorites of everyone on our trip. Riding an ATV in Sedona was fabulous and my teenager will remember it always! Our day at the Petrified Forest was made more special by the artist in residence that day and both my children spent over an hour with her painting as the Indians did in ages past. We cannot say enough good things about the home and the Flagstaff area!
Our trip was full and what made it nice was coming home each evening to a clean, well maintained home.

Owner's Response: There’s always plenty to do in beautiful Flagstaff and the surrounding areas, but if our guests choose to just relax “at home,” we work hard to make it easy and comfortable. A couple of years ago, neighbors from the mid-west recommended the whole-house fan. It does work very well!

Comforts of Home

  • 5 of 5
My wife and I stayed here for 5 nights in May 2014 to see the South Rim and the sites around Flagstaff and Sedona. We’ve stayed in many VRBO’s and this place ranks amoung the very best. It is everything depicted on the website and more. Clean, comfortable, convenient, and very well stocked! Clearly, the owners have put a lot of effort into anticipating what their guests will need – and providing it. We debated staying in Sedona but are glad we chose Flagstaff, which is less touristy , noticeably cooler, and has a nice downtown with great restaurants and more of a local feel. Regarding restaurants, we followed the advice in “the book” in the kitchen and tried Oregano's, and Swaddee Thai. Both are fantastic. We also discovered Alpha & Omega, an inexpensive Greek place on Route 66. Not much atmosphere, but my heritage is Greek and the food rivaled any Greek food I have had.

Great house and owners

  • 5 of 5
I have used vrbo 15 times and this was one of the nicer homes and easiest owners to work with. Nice convenient location and remodeled inside. Bathrooms are updated and clean. Across the street from a park with good running trail. Had a great trip visiting all the national monuments the area.

Perfect!

  • 5 of 5
We recently were in Flagstaff for our son's graduation from NAU. Since there were 5 of us we decided to look for a house instead of hotel rooms. We looked at a few before choosing this home, and we made a perfect choice. The location was ideal by being close to the school, close to shopping and being across from the park was great. The owners were wonderful to deal with, and were helpful with things to do in the area. Everything we needed was provided, even recreational items like bikes! The beds were all comfortable, and it was so nice to have a place to relax after our busy days. We would stay in this home again if the opportunity arose. Thank you for making our visit ideal in every way!
