Private location, amazing view!

We traveled across the US and Canada for the entire summer, and this house was our favorite place to stay! The view is stunning and the photos do not do it justice. Likewise, the house is lovely and has obviously been well cared-for and updated with a wonderful open layout. It was much bigger than we had expected based on the photos, and the large windows bring the view inside all day. Our kids (ages 6 and 8) loved the large grassy yard, and of course the beach! We went down to explore the beach for several hours every day at low tide - we never saw another person on the beach, which is a fantastic experience in itself. We found countless sea creatures hiding in the tide pools and especially enjoyed watching the resident eagle family teach their young ones to fly and hunt. There are loads of activities available in the area (we went caving, hiking, whale watching, swimming at Qualicum Beach, and to several museums), and the house is located just far enough from town so that it is very private but also convenient to shops and restaurants. Simply perfect for us! To top it all off, the owner is very helpful with anything you might need, including some great recommendations about local outings and how to cook the freshest oysters and salmon you will ever taste. He obviously loves this area, and he has the very best part of it in his own backyard. Truly one of those places that you almost wish you could keep secret forever! It is a long drive from North Carolina, but I hope we will make it back someday.
