If your goal is to commune with nature, plan to hike the 4-mile self-guided nature trail less than a mile away in Grayton Beach State Park. Kayaking and canoeing are available along the Western Lake within the park. Much of this area is protected state park land and is a birder's delight. We had a wonderful week in the house. Clean, enough space, good beds and it is only a few steps from a nice quiet beach.
