Horrendous

Returned from this nightmare to the United States on the 10th of October.
1) Upon arriving the house was not in clean condition--you couldnt even see in the mirrors, the sheets on the bed had pubic hair on them (your'e kidding me that they werent even changed??), the living room floor was dirty, there were bugs everywhere, the toilets were dirty and roaches in the kitchen. We spent over an hour cleaning the home to our standards after a lengthy flight. Not what one would normally be prepared to do or want to do after paying for a weeks vacation. I would be horrified if my home looked in that state that this did upon arrival.
2) We asked way in advance for a jeep rental. Turns out the caretaker had a Suzuki that he rented to us because a jeep "wasnt necessary". He did tell us however that he had to replace it with another vehicle mid-way through the trip because someone else wanted the one we had. (what?). We went along with it and took the exchange of the clunker he replaced the original car with. Windows would not go down and you couldnt use the air conditioner or seat belts and all of the stickers on it were expired. We were concerned because he told us to drive ourselves back to the airport and leave the keys in it. What if we didnt make it that far? It all turned out ok.
3) This is the worst of all. We took the clothing out of the dresser drawers when packing to go home and took sand fleas with us! We knew about it early enough (on the flight) when we got bitten each time we were near our luggage, so we were able to put them in the garage and bomb it with a fogger that day. Thank God we found out so soon because we have two little 4 legged friends who would have had to suffer for it. We have spent over 75.00 now in foggers for the garage, flea powder, flea collars, etc. If we find that they in fact did get inside we are going to need to call an exterminator. I debated for awhile what to report online about this but finally my husband convinced me I needed to. I contacted the owner promptly and all she had to say was that she hadnt had any other complaints and that it made her sad?????? How do you think we felt to have had this planned for months and to have this for our vacation???? We are also asking for some sort of reimbursement. Which she has ignored.
The caretaker said one of the prior guests had to go to the hospital for no seeum bites, now I am wondering if it was the fleas?)
