|Minimum Stay||3 - 6 nights|
This striking London townhouse is perfect for families or groups of friends who are visiting London. Up to 8 people can stay together in this comfortable and attractive apartment.
The living space is a perfect place to relax together. The pretty green walls, cozy sofas and many lamps create a soft, warm ambiance.
With a central location and convenient transport, Lord Elsham is a great base for a family holiday.
This flat is located on a quiet one-way street lined with oak trees in Kensington & Chelsea in central London. A traditional British pub is on the street and two fine restaurants are just one minute away.
The Royal Borough has many bars, trendy cafes and markets. Westfield London, a new billion pound shopping complex, is nearby. The area is a centre of live music, especially at the Shepherd’s Bush Empire.
Holland Park, Notting Hill Gate, Portobello Market and High Street Kensington are only a 10 minute stroll away. You can walk to Kensington Gardens and Kensington Palace within 15 minutes. You can easily reach the West End and other parts of London via the local tube stations.
Really good location, convenient to bus, underground and train. Flat was spacious. Once we figured out the hot water trick, the shower was fine. Loved the neighborhood. Having the cell phones came in handy as it let us explore at different paces. We appreciated the owner's flexibility in arranging payment terms and in agreeing to arrange pick up from Gatwick.
Overall a good experience.
The apartment is in very safe family neighborhood and you can easily walk to groceries, bus, underground at the Shepards Bush area. Very nice park (Holland Park) nearby for walks and some green space. Apartment itself is very functional, sleeps 6 comfortably and kitchen is very functional. It looks similar to photos. No elevator and you will need to walk up 3 flights with your luggage. Wifi was very good.
The heat was not on and had to use small space heaters.
There were no cell phones (as advertised )and we were counting on using these during our stay.
We did not meet the owners and the person who met us to open up the apt. could not answer any of our questions about the apt, neighborhood ,etc.
This was a wonderful rental for my husband and I. The apt.was clean and bright and had all the comforts of home. It is located on the top floor and has no lift,so if you have problems with stairs, not the place for you. One of the best things about this rental was the car service that is included, how very nice not to have to worry about directions and getting to the apt.after a long flight. The ease of rental was very easy and Carl and Liz,are very quick to reply with any questions you may have. The location of the apt.is great! You are about a ten minute walk to the tube and to an amazing shopping mall. The mall has some wonderful outside restaurants that are very trendy, this was great, as at the end of very busy sight seeing days,we would stop there each evening to have supper and and drinks, and than have a nice ten minute stroll back to the apt. A wonderful way to finish our day. There are two bedrooms, the beds are comfortable. We always had hot water for showers. There is a train track behind the apt.but it is far enough off not to disturb your sleep. Thanks to Nelly for meeting us at the apt.and giving us all the information we required to get around. Thanks to the team for allowing our early and late check out! Always appreciated by guests! Sincerly, Tina and Michel
My family of 5 stayed here for a week in July and we found the flat to be just as described in the listing. The location was great-the neighborhood was nice and quiet and we were within walking distance to the underground, the grocery and restaurants. We had a couple of minor issues when there and I emailed the property owners who sent someone over the next day to help. Unfortunately the issues could not be resolved but hopefully they will be taken care of for the next guests. The communication all throughout the rental process was great and our deposit was returned promptly. When renting in London remember that not all flats have air conditioning (this one does not) because they rarely need it. Unfortunately, London was having a particularly warm summer so the day time inside was a little warm. However with the windows open in the evening it was very pleasant. Also this flat is on the third floor so if you cannot climb stairs, this one is not for you.
I stayed at the Lord Elsham apartment for 3 nights. This was a very last minute booking but Carl was very helpful in arranging everything. He was very courteous on the phone and I never had any problems getting in contact with him by email or phone.
The actual apartment is lovely and really well maintained. The photos are exactly what you get. It is a very good size and easily accommodated our group. There are two bedrooms, one with a large queen sized bed and one with a double bed and a single. The couch in the living room also converts into two large singles. All the beds are very comfortable. There is one bathroom and the shower has fantastic pressure. A hair dryer is also provided.
The apartment is only a 5 minute walk (if even) from Shepherds Bush tube station which is also where Westfields Shopping Centre is and since its on the Central Line it is on the direct tube for oxford street and Liverpool street station which was extremely handy.
Nelly met us on Thursday morning at the apartment (which meant we didn't have to waste time collecting the keys from a separate location) and accommodated an early check in at 12:15pm and showed us the apartment. There is free wifi and a laptop provided which was really a plus.
The only negative was that it was odd having to take off our shoes before we entered the apartment and I would perhaps recommend that white carpets are not the most appropriate colour for a rental. However it was not really an imposition and would not stop me recommending this apartment to anyone.
Nelly also accommodated us leaving our bags in the apartment on the day of check out until 4pm which was infinitely helpful and Carl was in contact that day about the return on my deposit.
All in all I can easily say this was one of the easiest and most pleasant apartments I have ever stayed in and I would highly recommend it.
Our stay in London was great! We ended up arriving a day early into London and Carl was so kind to accommodate us in his flat. The flat was clean and a perfect location to the tube. Walking distance to so many wonderful sights. The only reason I didn't give an excellent was the bath towels were old and a little bit scratchy. We were there for 5 days and only received 1 bath towel per person.
We would definitely return to Lord Eshlam for our next stay in London.
