Our family stayed here over MLK weekend and had a fabulous time! The house is exactly as described: Spacious, clean, homey and fun. It is really less than a 5 minute walk to the ski mountain where they have a ski hill, snowboarding, snow tubing, ice skating and a small snack bar. If you do go skiing or snowboarding, get there early because it gets very crowded as the day goes on and all lessons fill up quick. The kitchen is full service and has everything you need. The bedrooms are spacious and clean and there are three very nice bathrooms. There are two very nice gas fireplaces and a great hot tub outside. I definitely plan on staying here again!
very nice location, close to lake (walking distance), close to art center (good for kids), separate from neighbors, supportive owners, amazing fresh air.
We had an enjoyable stay here during the last full week of June. First, the location of the house within The Hideout community is great! (It is within walking distance of the main beach and pool, a small park that allows access to lake fishing, and a playground. Our 4 year old grandson walked to each of these locations without difficulty). Second, the house is very spacious and so is the deck!
However, the house has several maintenance issues that should be addressed. For instance, the landline did not work during our stay. (The owner was notified within 2 hours of our arrival and responded with, "Okay. I'm sorry." This may not seem like an issue to some, but there is no cell service in the house)! Next, all exterior screen doors have problems, such as falling off their tracks and/or leaving large gaps which allows insects (and possibly rodents) to enter the house. Also, several finishing nails on the trim had to be pounded in due to family members getting scratched. Lastly, the family room in the basement (not the bedroom) has a musty odor due to all the dampness.
Once again, we did enjoy our time at The Hideout. This home is nice; it just need a little TLC!
Every year our family gets together in one place to as my sister and I call it play the "Waltons". Over 16 years we have gone to many places some places we have revisited and others we have put on the do not return with many laughs. But this house was great it gave each family a sense of space and the community itself gave us all plenty of things to do. It's quiet and peaceful and close to many attractions. The fact that there is a bathroom on every floor is great. The dining room could seat all 9 of us so we could eat as a family.
The pool table looked nice we don't actually play pool. We actually played games at night or watched tv. Hot tub was great very clean.
The house was clean and tidy as was the yard.
There are a lot of deer but they are little in NY our deer are a lot bigger.
They had great security you see them patrol the area frequently.
We would highly recommend this house to anyone with children or without it is very family friendly as is the community.
My fiance and I stayed at this house for a weekend getaway. The house was exactly as described on the site. We found it very cozy, clean and homey feel. It rained Friday and Saturday so we just relaxed around the house. Friday night went in the hot tub, which was sooo relaxing and then sat in front of the fire. On Saturday morning we made waffles and coffee (house had a waffle maker and coffee pot) and watched some movies and played games (great pool table). We were looking forward to BBQing and were able to despite the rain because it was shielded from the rain- which was so great! On Sunday the sun finally came out and we went to Ritter's Market nearby and got some apples, delicious donuts and cider. Overall, it was a great weekend. Check-in at the front gate was very easy and staff seemed helpful when we asked for directions. Highly recommend this property.
