The apartment is very spacious with large veranda and good sized bedrooms. The lounge is large containing seating for up to 6 people including a comfortable bed settee. The veranda which overlooks the swimming pool is large enough for a table and chairs as well as a couple of sun loungers. There is an electric point as well as a TV Aerial on the veranda so it is almost like another room and certainly as big. The kitchen contains a large fridge and reasonable size freezer so you can stock up for a few days. The apartment has air conditioning units that also double up as heaters out of season. Outside the entrance to the complex are a few shops and a couple of restaurants. There is a small supermarket for everyday needs and a bar. We cannot guarantee that all these will be open before the middle of June and after the middle of September. A car is recommended.

The apartment is easily accessible from Bari. 40 minutes from the apartment is Matera that contains the Sassi where they filmed 'The Passion of Christ'. You can easily drive to the east coast through a National Park to visit places such as Maratea, Naples and Pompeii. To the east you have the towns of Alberobello which contains the Trulli houses and Locorotondo. The area is very unspoilt as it has not really become a tourist area and is mainly used by the Italians for their summer holidays. Although the coast is very flat it is only about 15 minutes before you reach the mountains and once at the top the views are glorious. There are several towns like Montescagliosa and Pomerico that are lovely and well worth the drive along the steep windy roads.

There are two golf courses near the apartment. The nearest being about 10-15 minutes away at Metaponto and another one about another 10 minutes from there which is owned by the same people. They are open all year round. The Relais Du Golf is recommended by the PGA of Europe and the Puglia and Basilicata Open has been held there.

Other Activities: Other activities may be on offer in between June and September including pedalos and windsurfing.
