Lisa Rose-Andrews purchased this cottage in 2007
Thank you Lisa for providing an abundant amount of information in advance about the cottage, Heath, and the surrounding communities. It was very helpful to know what to bring and where to visit for our family weekend that included 4 adults, 3 children and a Labradoodle! The cottage was wonderfully stocked with linens, blankets and kitchenware that clothes and food were all we needed to think about bringing. Your home was warm and inviting and we all enjoyed relaxing in the living room by the fireplace. The children were fascinated by your attention to detail with the unique decor and had fun exploring inside and out, discovering all sorts of "treasures"!
We would highly recommend the Serenity Cottage. Lisa is a delight to work with!
If you’re looking for a quiet, peaceful, and relaxing place to get away from the hustle and bustle routine of everyday life, you’ve found it. Serenity Cottage lives up to its name. Our family spent 3 weeks here in 2013 and another two weeks in 2014. The house is well maintained and furnished and provides all the amenities you could want and then some, with the exception of cable television. It does have a flat-screen TV which is hooked up to a DVD player and is also set up for Apple TV, which enables us to watch some of our favorite shows and rent movies. The cool nights make for great sleeping. The comfortable porch is great for lounging and enjoying the sunset. We used to go to a quiet lake in the North Woods of Wisconsin every summer, but with our daughter living in nearby Shelburne Falls, we have opted to come here instead and enjoy it just as much. Shelburne Falls is the prettiest town we have seen in all New England and was recently the setting for two movies, “Labor Day” with Kate Winslet, and “The Judge” with Robert Downey, Jr. and Robert Duval. It goes without saying, we look forward to coming back.
This hidden gem was the perfect getaway for us. Having the delightful opportunity to spend the first week in May at the cottage was just what we needed. We arrived two days earlier than expected and Lisa couldn't have been more gracious and accommodating! The home was clean, well organized and provided all the immunities any guests may need. The gardens were beginning to bloom after a long winter. We enjoyed sitting on the outside deck daily listening to the stream that feeds the pond along with all of nature's other music. We had a chance to meet and talk with a couple of very nice neighbors as we walked to the Heath Post Office. We enjoyed our visits to Shelborne Falls and other nearby interests. There are many great books on the shelves, movies, games and comfortable furniture to enjoy it all. Firewood for the indoor fireplace and outdoor fire pit were on site. The cottage is roomy, charming and cozy for one or multiple guests. Sharing dinner with Lisa and friends on our last evening was icing on the cake. Cheers to you, Lisa and thank you! We hope to come back another time.
We loved this charming cottage retreat in western MA. Everything was super clean and well organized. Amenities were anticipated and provided. Lisa is a gracious owner who is attentive to detail and creates a wonderful guest experience, This was an anniversary getaway and my husband and me. We appreciated the quiet, and being surrounded by nature's beauty. It was cozy inside and the fireplace and comfortable furnishings provided a restful and romantic getaway. Did not experience too much of the surrounding area, but would love to come back in a season where we can enjoy the gardens here and some of the many things to do in this community.
We had a lovely stay at the cottage. My husband and I were joined by our daughter from NY for a wonderful week of reading, relaxing, and enjoying the silence. Lisa's library at the cottage is marvelous and includes many books by and about Niebuhr if you want to connect with the cottage's history. Beautiful Shelburne Falls is a short distance away and is perfect for dinner or browsing in art galleries. Lisa provided a notebook full of places of interest a short distance from Heath but we were too content reading in the backyard to go many places. My daughter did enjoy a visit to MASS MOCA and loved it. If you want a simple and serene cottage to relax and renew this is it. We hope to come again.
My friends and I were looking for a house for a reunion weekend and this property was perfect! We're all in our 30s and have been friends since we were 9 and the place needed to be special. Serenity Stone Cottage was amazing! There was plenty of room for us to spread out, comfortably sleep, cook fantastic meals, and hang out. The place is clean, quaint, and lovely. We went for a beautiful walk in the area while we were there and really enjoyed the surroundings, but really, spent most of the time laughing, cooking, sharing stories and catching up in house and it was perfect! We enjoyed our stay so very much and highly recommend it. Lisa is fantastic to work with, extremely responsive and very accommodating.
