Casa Limon -Recently converted cottage adjoins our own Cortijo with its own private entrance & terrace, enjoying a peaceful rural setting with beautiful views over surrounding olive clad hills with the tiny village of La Parrilla lying in the valley below, situated close to Iznajar and its lake. Ground floor patio area (with patio furniture) entrance door leads to: Living room, fully furnished with sofa & chairs, dining table & chairs, TV/video/DVD & well equipped fitted kitchen area. Attractive spiral staircase leads to the first floor (also exterior access to first floor) where there is a bathroom with bath and shower above and two bedrooms, one Double & one Twin both with ceiling fans and wardrobe space. Main bedroom with lovely views over valley. Access from this floor to a private terrace which is enclosed and safe for children with patio furniture & access to the owners olives. La Casita -Apartment with Living/kitchen, double bedroom & shower/WC. Private terrace with views.

La Casita is our recently converted smaller apartment adjoing our own Cortijo offering accommodation for 2/3 people. The accommodation comprises: Living room with sofa/day bed (for 3rd person) , dining table & chairs & fitted kitchen area to one end with fridge (and freezer section) four ring gas hob & microwave oven with internal grill. All necessary cooking utensils and crockery are also provided. Tiled floor, beamed ceiling and window. A door leads to a double bedroom also tiled with double bed, bedside tables, dressing table with drawers & wardrobe. A door leads to a fully tiled en suite shower room with corner shower basin,wash hand basin & wc.A door also leads from the double bedroom to the outside where there is a private, south facing , tiled sun terrace with lovely views, equipped with patio furniture. A short distance away is the 8 x 4 m swimming pool (shared & normally available for use between April & October) with surrounding terrace again south facing with great views.

Our property is situated deep in the heart of rural Andalucia on the borders of Malaga and Cordoba provinces from where some of Spain's finest olive oil is produced. Enjoying a peaceful setting overlooking olive clad hills & the tiny village of La Parrilla, this is the perfect retreat for those wanting to experience the real, unspoilt Spain & a relaxed chill out style holiday. The historic town of Iznajar with it's Moorish castle perched high on a rocky outcrop overlooking it's stunning 32km lake surrounded by hills & mountains lies approx 15 min away. Around the lake and the nearby Sierra Subetica parque natural with it's rugged mountain scenery are plenty of beautiful walking trails. The Gr7 walking route also passes through the area. The lake beach also offers good fishing & swimming, sailing & pedaloes in the summer months. The attractive town of Antequera is nearby and we are well located for easy access to Granada, Cordoba and Seville. Malaga airport is 1 hr. Granada 45.

  • Prices quoted are for the property accommodation per week in GB pounds and not per person.
    Available for short lets in the winter with a minimum of 3 nights stay. Price upon request.
    Daily prices are also available upon request
    A saturday Changeover day ie arrivals and departure day is preferred but we are flexible so please ask us.
    A 25% non returnable deposit is required upon booking and the balance is then payable 8 weeks before the holiday due date.
    Please contact us for christmas and new year rental prices.
  • Christmas and New year period is 20 December to 2nd January. Easter holidays £235 per week.

Notes: Saturday is preferred for changeover but we are flexible so please ask. The apartment is cleaned on a weekly basis which includes supplying fresh towels & bed linen. Pool towels are not supplied. Room fans are supplied for the warmer summer months & gas or electric heaters are supplied for the cooler months. The kitchen is well equipped with all necessary utensils & crockery whilst we provide a clothes washing / drying sevice if required for a small charge. Barbecues are supplied for both properties on the terraces. CD/radio cassete player is supplied. Although we feel the property is suitable for the elderly we should point out that there is a gentle slope / ramp from road level to our property & La Casita. This is a great area for walking and mountain biking with some beautiful scenery & many places to go either around the lake at Iznajar or amongst the hills and mountains. Travel: Malaga airport is approx. 1 hour away and many flight/tour operators offer a wide range of flights. We recommend Easyjet, Flybe, Britanniaairway & Flymonarch. Granada airport is slightly nearer being approx. 45 minutes away but the choice of flights from UK is more limited. We recommend Ryanair (from Stansted) and Flymonarch (from Gatwick). Cordoba 90mins. Approx. 30 minutes away is the charming town of Antequera with attractive architecture, impressive churches, Moorish Castle, lively centre and excellent shopping. Iznajar town and lake are approx.15/20 minutes. A short local walk or drive provides you with lovely views of the lake and there is a superb drive around the southern part of the lake. This pretty hill top town with it's Moorish castle & ancient church, overlooking the lake offers a range of shops including small supermarkets, banks, bars, restaurants etc. Villanueuva de Algaidas is approx. 15 minutes away & has a comprehensive range of shops/restaurants & amenities.

Activities and Leisure: Walking/hiking -This is superb walking country with beautiful scenery & varying degrees of terrain from gentle hills, tracks through olive groves & mountain sierras. The Gr7 (Gran Recorrido) walking route ( part of the E4 European walking trail from Spain to Greece )crosses Andalucia & passes by close to our location offering serious walkers a choice of routes as the Gr7 trail splits off into two directions one of which leads into Cordoba province & the Sierra Subetica parque natural, a stunning rugged protected mountain range & glorious countryside. Guided walks arranged. Birding - The area is ideal for birding both locally around the lake & the Sierra Subetica parque natural where there are Hoopoe, Griffon Vulture, Golden Eagle, Kestrel, Eagle owl, Black Wheatear & wildlife such as Wild Cat & Boar.Bird guiding days arranged. Mountain biking - Excellent opportunities for cycling around the lake with many tracks & trails. Children's swings/slides, football/tennis area in Villa.

Golf and Skiing / Places to see: Golf - Impressive recently opened 18 hole golf course at Antequera set amidst superb mountain scenery lies approx. 40 mins away whilst there is a large choice of courses on the Costa del Sol. Skiing - We are approx. 1 & 3/4 hours away from the Sierra Nevada mountain range & ski resort situated close to Granada.The resort enjoys a longer than average season & there a good range of runs to suit all levels of skill. El Torcal parque natural with remarkable limestone rock formations, abundant flora & fauna & amazing views to the Med. Fuente de Piedra - A huge lagoon well known as a breeding ground for hundreds of flamingos. Granada, Cordoba & Seville - The centres of ancient Moorish culture & art in the region with their fine historic buildings. Washington Irving route - Trace the route taken by the 19th c traveller/writer between Seville & Granada. Coastal attractions such as theme parks, Marinas, water parks 1 hr Wolf Park nr. Antequera, Science Park at Granada,Donkey Sanctuary.

Ski: We are about 90 minutes away from the Sierra Nevada excellent ski range situated just outwith Granada with good road connections the motorway only 12 miles from our Cortijo, so you could drop some of the party at the Alhambra and have a pleasant ski break yourself.
