Further details for this vacation house rental in Santa Fe, New Mexico

General description of interior: You enter the house through the piano room, with the living room to the right and the media room in front of you. You’ll find many beautiful, original works of art and an interesting book collection for your enjoyment. Hidden away in a lovely antique armoire in the media room is an entertainment center including a large television and DVD. This room invites solitary relaxation, intimate conversation or festive entertaining. Just step outside to enjoy the fabulous mountain sunsets on the multi-tiered deck or a meal cooked on the outdoor grill. For the adventurous, there are two bicycles located in the garage.

Main area description: The open concept main living space includes a large living room, furnished in comfortable Western style with leather sofas, easy chairs, interesting art work, including native rugs, a large kiva fireplace and plenty of firewood. The heavy wooden dining table, surrounded by leather chairs, seating eight to ten people, separates the kitchen from the living room. You’ll find plenty of dishes, flatware and serving pieces, mugs and bowls and glasses of all types. The small galley kitchen has tiled countertops, pots and pan hanging from the ceiling, and of all the amenities a person who loves cooking would want.

Awesome Mountain Views !: Off the upper master suite, you’ll find a small patio and stairs to the roof deck. Once you’ve seen this awesome 360 degree view you’ll never want to leave! Come feel the magic of the mountains. Because many of the handmade, original art pieces are within a child’s reach, we discourage families with young children staying in our home.

Fabulous house, fabulous view, fabulous location

Review Submitted: August 29, 2009 Date of Stay: August 2009
We stayed in this beautiful, comfortable home in August, 2009. We were a party of three couples, and especially enjoyed the three spacious bedroom suites and baths. The drive from Santa Fe is easy, quick, and scenic. This house affords beautiful views of both sunrises and sunsets. The home was clean, comfortable, and filled with many art treasures and Native American artifacts. We certainly recommend this home, and would love to stay here again on our next trip to Santa Fe.

An absolutely gorgeous home!!!

Review Submitted: February 4, 2009 Date of Stay: November 2008
We stayed at this home in early November 2008 and cannot WAIT to go back... what a spectacular retreat in one of our favorite cities!

This home is nestled on a hill just west of the city overlooking the beautiful New Mexico landscape. It is decorated with lovely traditional Santa Fe furnishings...the artwork and bric-a-brac will facinate you your entire stay -- we kept discovering new things every day we were there!

This home has everything in its unique three-story layout --from all the thoughtful guest amentities throughout the house (the owners have thought of everything) to the fun kitchen, fabulous bedrooms/bathrooms and cozy kiva fireplaces. The master bedroom on the top floor is breathtaking with its panoramic views of the scenery and Jemez mountains... the master bath, with windows facing the Sangre de Cristo mountains, is one of the most memorable we have ever seen.

We loved relaxing with friends on the numerous outside decks (complete with a hot tub on one deck and kiva fireplaces on others), sipping wine and gazing at the spectacular views during the day and stars at night. It even has a rooftop deck with an outdoor fireplace and views that are not to be missed!

The property is impeccably maintained with easy-to-read instructions on how to use everything in the house, right down to the music and sound system.

If you do decide to leave the house, you will thoroughly love the drive back into town. There are so many things to do within the vicinity of the house -- shopping on the square, art museums, the Santa Fe Opera (which is close by), spas, winery tours, skiing, the Tesquque Flea Market, the Shidoni Foundry and Glassworks in Tesuque are just a few. While we were there, we shopped and ate on the square with our friends.

Our favorite restaurants: Guadalupe Cafe, Plaza Cafe for breakfast (excellent local place on the square), Cafe Pasquals, and the French Pastry Shop in the Hotel La Fonda. We had a lovely dinner at Coyote Cafe -- fabulous food with a Southwestern flair. We also went to Jinja, an Asian bar and bistro, for dinner that was very good. And one night we got take-out pizza from Il Vicino, an Italian Trattoria, that was excellent.

Having been to Santa Fe many times over the years, this was the most memorable and gracious place we have ever stayed. What a truly wonderful time we had. We will definitely recommend this property to all our friends and family!

Santa Fe Trip 2008

Comfort Memphis TN
Review Submitted: August 4, 2008 Date of Stay: July 2008
This Santa Fe home is a great place to go if you want peace and quiet; or just take in the many things to do. The stunning scenery could be seen from almost every room and deck, but the rooftop deck is awesome. The home is well equipped with attention to every detail that a visitor could want. Since this was vacation, we wanted to eat out and, thanks to the owners information booklet, we were able to find excellent restaurants nearby. Tinys had good service, good food and live musicians; very enjoyable. It seems that Santa Fe is a city filled with art and museums and we were able to visit many places suggested by the owner. We also enjoyed the cave dweller ruins in Bandelier. On our last night we went to Tomasitas Restaurant that was probably my favorite. I felt so refreshed that I didn’t want to leave; it took days for me to get back into the swing of things. This house is exactly as described, and more; a wonderful mountain retreat that you should experience yourself.

Very pleased and relaxed

Review Submitted: July 28, 2008 Date of Stay: July 2008
What a great place you have! This ol’ city-boy was blown away by the wall to wall stars at night and the overwhelming silence . . . your ad didn’t mention these perks. The house décor was very comfortable and so relaxing, we almost forgot to pack before we had to leave. I love the wild floor plan – I was lost for days and loved it. We were surprised at how cool it was in the summer, being used to Texas heat. Now we can’t wait to come back for ski season.
In the Plaza area of Santa Fe, there were many art stores and restaurants within walking distance of each other. Your organized book of restaurants and attractions was detailed and very helpful.
We really enjoyed breakfast at Tesuque Market Café and dinner at Maria’s was a big hit.
Though it wasn’t ski season, the hiking trails on top of the ski mountain was worth the drive to the ski lift.
Touring Bandelier was great for the whole family and we hit the museums at Los Alamos on the way back.
I will recommend your place to my overworked friends in desperate need of a place to chill.
