Truly our "Home Away From Home" - the only place we'll ever go! Been here 6 times in the last 2 years; can't say enough how wonderful the accommodations, amenities, hospitality and genuine friendliness of everyone in the area are! Spacious and comfortable, it affords privacy inside and out. One can step out on the patio to an enclosed beach area, relax on the chaise lounges, or go for a swim, snorkel, kayak, fish, or walk the beautiful undeveloped beach - there's new treasures daily. We found it safe, secure; it's modern, very clean, and quiet.
We wake up daily to spectacular sunrises which lend to the many early morning activities: the entourage of fishing boats congregating on the horizon, shimmering bait fish under glistening ripples, a road runner quickly 'running' through, frigate birds catching a snack in the waves, or spotted rays "dancing" with sound effects as they slap the water while we drink our coffee and enjoy breakfast. On several occasions, we've had the ultimate pleasure to watch schools of dolphin and breaching whales pass through - a sight to behold and hear!
Day's end provides beautiful sunsets that exhibit colorful hues over the mountains that surround Los Barriles, which subtlety becomes an array of twinkling lights in the far distance of silhouetted foothills. This quaint town proudly features great local talent for entertainment, superb places to eat the best homemade authentic food, great shops featuring local artisans with reasonable prices, and, the means to many outdoor adventures wherever one may want to go.
The area offers much in sightseeing through the mountains or along the coast to distant but neighboring towns with much of the area's history still in tact. One can take 4-wheeler rides up the arroyos to the waterfalls, go reef snorkeling to see beautiful tropical fish and other sea life in colors otherwise imaginable, go wind surfing or just enjoy watching others "catch the wind". The Sea of Cortez has over 2,000 fish species; catching some of these delights is easily realized through local charter boats. There's too many to mention that make excellent meals on the grill or in the oven.
I highly recommend Casa Laguna. It's great accommodations and proximity afford a very relaxing place where anyone can enjoy as much as they want to fill the day with! No schedule when we're here as every day is full of relaxing fun. We're Home Away From Home. As the saying goes, "There's no bad day in Baja!"
