Island Dream has a spectacular panoramic view from each room,4 decks, pool, on its cozy 1/2 acre among palms, tropical flowers and tropical fruit trees. A rock garden merging with native plants on a hillside surrounds one side of the pool and the other looks out to the sea as does the new partial shade deck..
Each bedroom has a private balcony and each bathroom opens on an outdoor shower within flower-covered rocks. There are no other houses on its road or behind it. The three beautiful, secluded beaches are a short walk away and have fantastic snorkeling. One beach has chairs and umbrellas; the other is pristine.
A very short walk brings you to a community center with tennis court, bocce ball court, restaurant and a large pool with poolside bar, plantation ruins for picnics and a small, lovely spa.Our guests may use all facilities at this center.
Although the kitchen is small, all our guests marvel at how well-stocked it is and easy to work in. I love to cook and leave herbs and spices for all to use. The art is high quality & tasteful. We keep many books on fish, plants, BVI history, good novels as well as a special section of Caribbean cookbooks.

We love to visit our friends and relative and be hosts to them in either Sunriver or Virgin Gorda. We are grateful for our good health , loving family and friends and the fulfilling and enjoyable life we lead.
The Owner purchased this villa in 1999

The art is tasteful and we keep many books on fish, plants, BVI history, good novels as well as a special section of Caribbean cookbooks. We have wi-fi and a dvd library. Our wonderful managers are always available for help . Maid and pool service are frequent. We live here for 6 months a year which is one reason the house is so well stocked and in good condition.
I think that we and our guests love the privacy, the view seen from every room, each room having big glass doors and windows facing all possible views (incl. sunsets.) People love the pool which is so near the house that it is easy to dip and swim all day. Since we live here 6 mos. A year, the house has the feel of a real home -one with good art ,taste, comforts and useful items not found in villas that are used mainly a week or so at a time.
This is what the guest, Matt G, who stayed July 2013 wrote on another site:The garden around the house is spectacular, with its assortment of flowers of every color, and array of tropical fruit trees. You'll observe a variety of wildlife around the house as well, with brilliantly colored birds visiting the flowers. You are on a hillside overlooking a sparsely-used park with walking trails through well-maintained gardens which slopes down to the beach on the bay. Most evenings, sailboats moor in the bay, well below you providing a striking scene. While the house is secluded, you are about a 12 minute drive from the valley area with its restaurants and stores.
The kitchen is well-equpped if you are planning to do your cooking there, but there is a variety of nice restaurants on the island if you want to let someone else cook. We visited in July and it was quite warm but were comfortable in the non-air-conditioned section of the house--the kitchen & living area. There were ceiling fans and many screened windows to keep the air moving. The two bedrooms are air-conditioned but within an hour of our arrival we discovered that the bedroom our daughter would be using was not getting cool. A call to the property manager had an electrician there in short order. Unfortunately, he told us the outside unit had failed and would need replaced. We were told a new unit would arrive on the island the next morning for installation. "Island time" left us skeptical about just how promptly it would be repaired. But the next morning, the repairmen were there with the new unit. Unfortunately, it was not compatible with the inside unit, so they had to order one of those, too. Howard, who is also one of the property managers, coordinated all of the repair work with the electrician and the property owner, who quickly and thankfully approved all expenditures to get the work done. By mid-day, the repairs were completed.
The property has several porches--one in the dining area, and one for each of the two bedrooms. There is a lighted deck just off the pool area, but lights automatically go off each evening at around 9:10. We wished they would have stayed on later. The pool is small, but it has a deep end that you can stand up in with just your head above the water (if you are tall).
The house is clean and many small touches are included, such as a cooler and chairs for the beach. There is no cable/satellite TV, but wi-fi is provided and there is a DVD player and a library of movies
My husband and I have stayed in many accommodations in the US and British VI, and Island Dream is far and away the most romantic, picture-perfect location we've found. The Caribbean colors inside and out, the light and airy rooms, actual artwork on the walls, the many decks, the lush landscaping, all made for a totally relaxing stay in a beautiful environment. The house and grounds were impeccably maintained, and the views were fabulous from sunup to sundown. The stars at night were amazing - we even saw some shooting stars! Loved the isolation and quiet. And if you just can't unplug, there's even a great, fast Wifi connection. 5 stars & 2 thumbs up!
Island Dream is just that...a total dream! We spent two weeks in the Virgin Islands for our honeymoon. One in the USVI at The Westin doing the whole resort vacation and then ferried over to the BVI's and rented Island Dreams for a week - definitely our favorite part of the trip. The house is beautiful! More than enough room for two people and would be great for four; can't wait to go back with another couple! Everything was spotless. Mary & Rob have maximized every inch of outdoor space. Gorgeous gardens, big main deck for meals with the best view of the other islands, a smaller deck in the gardens where we sat and had many afternoon happy hours, balconies off both rooms (the views!) and THE POOL - the best part of it all! So fun having our own secluded pool as it is completely private from the street since it's surrounded by all the amazing tropical plants and flowers. And showering under the stars in the outdoor showers - what more could you ask for? Kitchen is small, but does just the trick. Well equipped with everything you'll need. (Shopped at Rosey's daily!) Air conditioning in the bedrooms works great, tons of books, beach chairs for use, directions/recommendations for the island and everything was decorated just as you'd want your island getaway to be.
The entire process was so easy from booking with Mary, to meeting Irma at the dock, helping us with our rental car and taking us to the house. Howard checked on us a couple times throughout the week. It is the perfect way to feel completely away from it all, without feeling helpless. A car is a must - while the island is very small, you'll need it to get from end-to-end and up the hills. One of our favorites things to do was drive just up the road from the house to Hog Heaven for the AMAZING view and BBQ. Savannah Bay is also just a quick drive away and is BREATHTAKING. The Baths are a must, eating + dancing the night away around the fire at CocoMaya is something I'll never forget. Watching World Cup at The Rock with all the locals was so fun (everyone is SO NICE), romantic dinner at Chez Bamboo, sunset at Top of the Baths, ferry over to Bitter End Yacht Club. The island seems so desolate, yet we found so many fun things to do...but our favorite was always coming back to Island Dream. Evening walks in the neighborhood were beautiful and there's also a pool and bocce court at the "club house" in Nail Bay which was an added bonus.
Island Dream is the definition of paradise - can't wait to return!
My wife, our boys, and I had a truly wonderful time at Island Dream! This is a very private villa with two large bedrooms, large living room and three porches. The kitchen is well stocked and handy. Perhaps the best parts were the pool overlooking the lush flora, and water, and the outside showers! The boys spent most of their time in the pool! Each bedroom has its own bathroom with outside shower, each nestled into the hillside with beautiful rocks and thick plants all around. You commune with nature. The drive in and out was thrilling! Really not bad in a jeep, and actually a lot of fun. You must remember the roads and driveways on Virgin Gorda tend to be steep. Best to have a rugged vehicle anywhere on the island. Mary was a pleasure to deal with, and Howard and Irma were both a joy. She and her niece and nephew joined us for an outside movie at the resort restaurant, which was very nice for us. The pictures on the listing do not do it justice, as it is difficult to show how beautiful, clean and comfortable Island Dream is!
The house is well-equipped with many thoughtful touches. We especially were grateful for the burgers and salad provided for the first night's meal. The garden is beautiful and we viewed many interesting birds, especially hummingbirds flitting about. The view of the bay is stunning, and most evenings an assortment of boats came in and anchored, adding to the picturesque setting.
The owner created a comprehensive guide of island restaurants and found we were in agreement with her recommendations as we dined at most of them.
As always, the beauty of BVI is only exceeded by the kindness and caring of its people.
Because if its reasonable price, we didn't expect such perfection. Island Dream is in a "dream" location on a hill overlooking the sea. The setting is gorgeous surrounded by beautiful flowering trees, bushes and tropical flowers. The view from the dining room deck, outside decks and bedroom decks are all spectacular. We ate all our meals on the deck. The pool is lovely just outside the house. The house is well supplied with everything you might need. The bed was comfortable and the management competent and helpful. We couldn't have been happier. We swam, played tennis, snorkeled, visited the sites on the island and generally relaxed. It was a real vacation.
We will definitely come back to Island Dream. It is a magical house designed by a prominent architect who also designed other much larger homes -- some even for movie stars. The house is unique. It is filled with beautiful paintings, extensive library and has a lovely peaceful feeling to it. It is also very quiet. We only heard the sound of birds, the wind rustling through the trees and the sea. The new private park across the street offers wonderful wandering paths and is a lovely way to get to the restaurant, tennis courts and beaches.
We loved our stay at beautiful Island Dream. The view is amazing, the planting of tropical palm and fruit trees and flowers beautiful and the deck partly within the brush like an almost hidden surprise. The rooms are light and airy; they seem to expand into their decks. The house was supplied with many more helpful kitchenware than we are used to expecting from other rentals. The pool is very accessible and a joy. We found the dirt road quite manageable and often saw a white egret sitting in the same place on it every day. We also loved the privacy of the location. Someone told us that a professional house-rater said that this house had the best art in the area. We found the art quite lovely and original. Island Dream was definitely a gem! .The only downside is that vacations are never long enough.Next time we will stay longer!! .
Island Dream is at Nail Bay with three relatively unvisited gorgeous equidistant beaches (5 minute walk) with the best snorkeling in the BVI. Guests can use tennis and large pool ( as well as our own one) at Nail Bay Resort which also has garden, picnic tables among plantation ruins as well as delicious Sugar Cane restaurant and poolside bar. This area has few houses and a country feel though house is air-conditioned, has internet access, large DVD collection, lovely art, fruit & palm trees, rock garden and abundance of amenities, cooking tools and grill.
