Comfortable studio apartment with original woodwork, provides a warm, cozy setting with all amenities: fully equipped kitchenette, living, dining and sleeping areas separated by central faux fireplace, large open deck with picnic table/lounge chairs and beautiful views of the Maine coast. TV, VCR/DVD and wireless network available. A rocky beach is directly across the street; 5-minute walks to a long stretch of fine sand beach and an Audubon nature reserve. Biddeford Pool is 20 miles south of Portland, between Old Orchard Beach and Kennebunkport. The village is unspoiled by tourism, with a general store and lobster pound. Excellent restaurants, gift shops, antique shops, and hiking trails all within 15 miles. Great location for bicycling, walking along the beach, windsurfing, sea kayaking, or exploring picturesque coastal towns in the vicinity.

This is an unbelievable spot for enjoying the summertime with children or adults. Rocky shores provide beautiful views and fun exploring; the sandy beach is great for swimming, sunning or surf casting. Biddeford Pool is in one of the most scenic areas on the Maine coast. Ferry Beach State Park in nearby Saco, with 117 acres of trails, is great for nature hikes, while abundant wildlife can be seen on a canoe trip at Scarborough Marsh Nature Center. It’s a short drive to Kennebunk, renowned for its tree-lined streets, historic homes, antique shops and art galleries, or Kennebunkport, where the waterfront is bursting with great restaurants, clothing boutiques for many styles, and attractive gift shops. Also nearby, Old Orchard Beach is the place to go for seaside amusement parks and miniature golf. Just 20 miles away, the city of Portland boasts a world-class art museum and a historic district with some of the best shopping and dining experiences you'll find anywhere in New England.

This space is small but cozy. The kitchen is very well equipped. My only problem is that the two chairs and couch are not particularly confortable and there could be a little brighter light, It gets dark earlier in Sept. and is somewhat of an issue. There is a VCR and a plasma TV with a DVD player which is very nice as the basic cable only allows 4 stations.
This being said, the deck is spectacular and even on a cool sunny day,wonderful to be on. The views of the ocean are beyond fabulous and this is why I come to Maine. This deck really is fabulous!!!!
There are many restaurants in Biddeford. two I would recommene are Mulligan's where a decent steak is $4,99 and the prices on all the food are extremely reasonable, I wouod also recommend The Cole Road Cafe for either breakfast or lunch. It's a little pricey, but well worth it.
If you want a bit more upscale restaurant for lunch or dinner than Buffleheads is the place to go. There Seafood Chowder is so good!!!
All in all, we will more than likely rent this space again.

Just what we expected and more!

My husband and I just returned from our first vacation experience in Maine. We loved it. Our cottage-style studio was exactly what we expected. It was charming and had all that we needed. There were two twin beds that we pushed together to create a king size sleeping arrangement. The central fireplace created a wonderful place for reading and conversation. The kitchen provided all that we needed and we made wonderful meals which we enjoyed at the table looking at the ocean. The small bathroom provided a shower with excellent water pressure, which was a lovely suprise after a day on the beach. Our favorite was the large deck. We spent many mornings there having coffee and homemade muffins bought at the local store which was a short drive away. We are already looking to book again next year. Many thanks to the owner and the assistance from HomeAway.
