My wife and I recently stayed at this cute place in Milan on our honeymoon. Everything was exactly as the owner (Danny) had said. The apartment was actually bigger than we imagined and it was perfect for us. The apartment was very clean, very safe, had a nice kitchen and bathroom. Danny was a wonderful (away) host and was easily available to answer all our questions and make sure we had everything we needed. He even offered us access to his wines and many other products that were in the kitchen that were great for us to prepare some meals. This was our first time to not stay in a hotel and we were very pleased with everything. The communication, attention to details, location, and professionalism was as good or better than any expensive hotel. We were able to walk to most places in a short time and when we called for a cab they were there before we could get down the stairs! I would suggest to anyone traveling to Milan to stay at this place. It's easy, quiet, and you feel like part of the city rather than a tourist. And many, many thanks to Danny who treated us with such kindness and courtesy. And to the people of Milan who welcomed us and showed us their wonderful city.
We are Americans living in Switzerland right now. We commonly rent apartments here in Europe when we travel because we have two children and two dogs. Most hotels here require families to rent two hotel rooms or a suite because quad rooms are not very common. In all our experiences with renting, this apartment was definitely one of the best.
The criteria that we look for in a rental includes: accommodating our family(including the furry members), clean, safe neighborhood, walkable location to main tourist areas and a good value. I can honestly that this apartment met all of those needs!
Then, as others have mentioned, there were many extra benefits that added to the convenience and value. Many times, we spend the first couple hours running out to get water, a bottle of wine, toilet paper, drinks for the kids, etc. However, here, all of that is provided--so we hit the ground running, and since we were just in for the weekend, we never had to waste any of our limited time running to the store.
The whole rental process was uncomplicated, and Danny, the owner, provided excellent communication. Additionally, he refunded our security deposit the same day we checked out.
Highly recommend this unit to anyone looking for an apartment with the same criteria as us!
We spent our last 2 nights in Italy in this Milan flat and the location was certainly convenient offering an easy walk into the heart of Milan as well as being conveniently located to the metro train if you want to get around that way.
Our host Danny who is located in USA is most certainly the most generous host you could hope to find, offering guests a multitude of extras that are certainly not a standard part of rental agreements such as access to his liquor corner as well as his wine rack, free local telephone calls and a separate phone that allows calls to USA, a draw full of pasta as well as other items that were more commonly offered in other rentals ie internet, and some basic kitchen and fridge items. All these things were greatly appreciated and certainly made our stay enjoyable.
As far as space goes, the flat was big enough for us (2 adults & 1 child), but it is quite compact. For Australian travellers, although its described as a "penthouse", it is not what we would typically refer to as a penthouse. Parking is not included with this rental and if travelling by car you need to be mindful of where you park. We found a nearby garage for €18 per day, however another garage quoted us €50 per day.
All in all, although the apartment was compact, the convenience of the location and the generosity of the host make it a winner.
We enjoyed our stay in this apartment. Well situated. Perfect starting point to get around in all of Milan. Thanks
The apartment is just as it shows in the photos and provided plenty of room for my wife and I during our stay in Milan. The residence is located in one of the shopping districts of the city, where if you head in one direction you’ll find all the high end stores of designer labels and the other direction takes you to more moderate shopping on Corso Buenos Aires. There is a small elevator that can accommodate your luggage or shopping bags to the landing. The apartment is large for an inner-city location and all rooms face a courtyard which drowns out the city noise. Although the wifi is troublesome and goes in and out, the apartment is one of the most well-stocked we have ever used. Absolutely everything was available, from extra towels (located above the computer), plenty of dishes, several TVs and phones, wine and liquor, and a nice welcome package to make a light meal with cheese, bread, prosciutto, pasta, eggs, crackers, etc. There is also a washing machine available for those that like to travel light.
The apartment is within walking distance to several metro stops which we found to be faster than a taxi during rush-hour. Several pastry shops and higher-end restaurants are located right out the door. Walking to the supermarket can be confusing, but there is a map provided in the on-site documentation to help navigate through the neighborhood. Walking to the Duomo was not a problem for us, but if you feel tired the metro stop is just a few down the line.
However, the attitude of the proprietor is what made our stay the most welcoming. Danny took plenty of time to discuss the apartment prior to arriving in Milan and gave many different options for exploring in and around the city. He responded promptly to phone calls and email messages answering various questions about the apartment and the city. He is a fantastic host that thrives on being a great ambassador to the City of Milan.
My Wife and I with our 2 year old son stayed there for three nights. It was a great apartment and location. We walked to the shopping district and Duomo everyday and also did a tour to see the last supper.
The internet connection was great and even though it was on the third floor there was an elevator to get up and down. They provided a baby cot free of charge for our two year old and it was by far the best stocked apartment we've rented for food and drinks.
Danny was very helpful with walking us through sending the money through Paypal and also talking to us on the phone prior to our trip about what we should see during our stay in Milan.
Great location and apartment!!
