Light-filled home in Capitol Hill's vibrant and safe Eastern Market neighborhood -- rated one of America's 10 most livable!

Built in 2003, we have everything you need to enjoy your visit to DC. Ideal for a couple or family, with Aero beds to add sleeping quarters. We take care of the details so you don't feel nickel and dimed -- and can enjoy a hassle-free stay.

Best of all, our central location means no fighting Washington’s traffic snarls, or paying top dollar for parking -- or parking tickets! Nearby: everything you'd want to see in DC:

The US Capitol, Supreme Court and Library of Congress are a 10-minute stroll away.

Head 4 blocks north, through our neighborhood of historic row houses, to get to Metro's direct route to top destinations -- the Smithsonian, the White House, the Washington Convention Center, the new American Indian museum, the FDR and Jefferson Memorials, Ford's Theatre, the International Spy Museum and more are a 10-minute ride away. Or stay on the subway for a bit longer to get to the National Zoo, Arlington National Cemetery, and the Kennedy Center.

To our south are the Washington Nationals' new stadium, the Navy Yard, and US-DOT (the new Transportation Department HQ).

On the way back home, stop at Eastern Market's produce, meat, dairy and flower stalls -- or pop into one of Barracks Row's cafes, bars or restaurants. Several grocery/drug/liquor stores are within walking/driving distance.

Owners are long-time DC residents and neighbors who are happy to answer questions and share tips for visitors.

GREAT PLACE TO STAY

  • 5 of 5
We had a great time visiting DC and using this townhouse as our home base. The townhouse was clean and comfortable and big enough for our family--mom, dad, two boys 10 and 8, a toddler, and grandma. The neighborhood was cute and there were lots of great places to eat on 8th Street. The metro was close and very easy to use. ALL of our kids loved the metro. Also, our kids left a cd case with about 20 movies and cds in it and Deb was kind enough to send it to us! Thanks again, Deb. The only thing I would change is the coffee maker. It was not easy to figure out how to use it and it didn't seem to brew very well. Otherwise, we really loved our stay here!

VERY HOMEY VACATION SPOT.

  • 4 of 5
This property is well maintained and the owners gave great customer service. The living level is spacious and comfortable. The upstairs has the 2 bedrooms with on suite baths that are also nice. It would seem difficult to have many more than 6 stay here as extra beds share existing bedrooms or are aero beds on the floor. There were only 3 of us so it suited us fine. Kitchen is well equipped. It is located in a very nice neighborhood within close walking distance to Barracks Row and the Metro line. For a little longer walk you can get to the Capital and the National Mall. Barracks Row has many good restaurants with most offering outside seating. The best place we found was a short walk from the townhouse to a new area called The Yards. We tried one of the restaurants called Kruba DC. The serve Thai food that is delicious and very reasonably priced. The Yards area is on the waterfront and just being developed with many restaurants and a wonderful area for enjoying the waterfront. Check it out and you will enjoy - we were there after dusk so we could enjoy all the pretty lighting. If you want to use the Metro be sure to use a Smartrip Card. It is easy and they offer senior discount cards.
All of the museums of the Smithsonian offer much to see. The Library of Congress may not be on you list, but you should see it if you enjoy beautiful architecture. It was the most beautiful to us.
The people of Washington DC are very friendly and helpful if you need help.
Also enjoy all the beautiful stained glass pieces in the townhouse.

THIS IS A GREAT PLACE TO STAY AND GREAT LOCATION.

  • 5 of 5
GREAT!!! This place was perfect for my wife, son and myself. The house has plenty of room with the bedrooms upstairs each with there own bathroom and shower. The washer and dryer are upstairs also so its easy to do the wash. Downstairs has a nice kitchen, dining area and front room. It is only a few blocks from the metro and a variety of good restaurants. Since we are from northern california we do not have much experience with metro so we were somewhat concerned about using it when we got to DC. It was very, very easy and having a smart card is the only way to go. Deborah has a number of them hanging in the entry way and all you need to do is add some money to them and your off. We arrived in the afternoon and were hungry and had no idea where to go. Lucky for us a neighber gave my wife some help and we only walked 4 or 5 blocks and had many choices. People were very friendly and gave us suggestion for eathing places. I recommend the Matchbox and Teds Bulletin. Teds has a fantastic breakfast but get their early as they are really busy. The location for the house is Capitol Hill and is only a metro stop or so away from the Capitol and Smithonian museums. We found this place to be a great location and very comportable. We would come back if we were to visit DC again. Highly recommend this to everyone and Deborah is wonderful.

GREAT PLACE TO STAY!

  • 5 of 5
We stayed here for several days in April, 4 adults, one child. Apartment was fantastic, lots of room, bathrooms, sitting areas, well appointed kitchen. We walked everywhere. Nearby is nice organic/healthfood grocery to stock up for cooking in, as well as the Eastern Market where we bought fish, cheese, produce. We were all very happy staying here and highly recommend the apartment as well as the great host.

WONDERFUL STAY FOR WASHINGTON D.C.

  • 5 of 5
This is our second time in Washington D.C. and our first was in a hotel in Dupont circle which was very far away and parking was expensive. This rental near the Eastern Market was a lot better experience than the hotel. The place was very roomy, nicely decorated, was private, near places to eat, and very importantly had parking space! With the amount of walking needed to go through the museum, the zoo, and finding good restaurants, having a parking space without paying any addition for it is great. Especially being able to walk to good restaurants during busy hours was a relief. Deborah was great also in helping us with whatever questions or issues we had. Basically everything went smoothly from beginning to end and our deposit was refunded to us promptly. I would recommend this place for anyone visiting DC especially with family.

GREAT PLACE TO STAY IN DC

  • 5 of 5
We stayed here in July with three adults and one teenager. The location is great, the neighborhood is quiet, and the inside is well furnished and very clean. The Metro passes were a nice touch that adds to the convenience as well. We didn’t rent a car so being close to the Metro made the stay even easier. Deborah is very friendly and very responsive. We would definitely recommend to others. Great place to stay in DC! Thanks!
