Fully furnished NON SMOKING cottage on quiet 23 acres Kettle Lake. Swimming area. Row boat is included for relaxing or fishing. Traverse City, Traverse Bay, Torch Lake and the Chain of Lakes are minutes away for motor boating and enjoyment. Small swing set is available for small children. Fire pit is available for use during DNR approved seasons (when conditions are not excessively dry or windy). NO FIREWORKS ALLOWED. Charcoal barbecue grill is also available for your use. No cable, just local TV service. DVD provided. Beach is shared with our other three cottages. NO ATV,MOTORCYCLE or SNOWMOBILE USE ALLOWED ON PROPERTY. This is our 2nd stay at this cabin and we had a great time. The description of location, layout, etc., were as stated. The cabin was clean and well maintained. The upgrades the owner(s) did was great! Made our stay even better. It was very peaceful and relaxing. Our chocolate lab Murphy loved the lake and running in the water and around the cabin. Murphy even made friends with a neighbor dog and his owner while they were at the lake. We have family close by so we spent alot of time with them so didn't go to alot of extra activities. We did go to Short's brewing company in Belleaire where the soups and sandwiches were great! I would recommend eating there. We definitely want to come back but for a week in the summer so my husband and I can enjoy the lake like Murphy!

Unwind beneath the pines

A just so little cottage under pines and overlooking a lake perfect for sun- and moonrise. The property is clearly well-looked after and the owners' communication is warm and helpful. Town is very close, with a few things to do, and Northland Foods to get supplies in case you simply want to enjoy listening to the breeze in the pines and forget about the real world for a while. We went with our 1-yr-old, two siblings, and their dog, but it was just right and secluded and super-relaxing. Outstanding!

Quiet and Relaxing

Buried back in the small town of Kalkaska, MI is a rustic cottage that offers everything you need. It is exactly as described and more. For two adults and two children I couldn't have asked for anything more in terms of price and what you can enjoy right beyond your back door You are backed right up to a lake with an available row boat and a water trampoline out in the middle of the lake. We spent hours just on the lake in our own backyard. Additionally, Traverse City is literally a 20 minute drive from the cottage and Sleeping Bear Dunes (a must visit) is only an hour. If you want to push a little farther and visit Mackinac Island for a day trip it is about 80 miles north. Overall, a very quiet and relaxing trip and nice escape for a week long trip.

A place to unwind and savor!

The cottage in Kalkaska is an oasis for those that toil long and hard days at home and at work. It is a place to take your watch off, watch beautiful sunsets and catch the morning calls of the loons on the lake. Simple and rustic it caters to those that love nature, simpler times and a time to reconnect with family and wildlife. They have thought of everything from water trampoline on the lake, a row boat to do some fishing and even a paddle boat to explore the lake. Evenings are something to look forward to with a campfire where you can talk about the day's activities and enjoy a freshly made samore! One week did not quite seem long enough for our family and we look forward to another visit soon! The Oehlers.

Had a great, stress free, family vacation

Just a beautiful location, the lake was perfect, the water was a warmer then expected and great for swimming.. The cabin was very clean and functional.. The kids ( 11 and 13 years old) were in the water from morning to night and they loved the lake and had a blast on the wet deck. The fishing was excellent. We had some nice camp fires in the evening . Nancy was great and made sure we had everything we needed. I would recommend this cabin to all my friends. The location was ideal, close enough to Traverse City and the Dunes, that short day trips were easy. We especially liked Elk Rapids.The water in Lake Michigan was the bluest and clearest I have ever seen. We had a very relaxing family vacation. . I wish I was there now.
