Villa Liguea is a beautiful villa situated on a hillside about 1/2 mile from Positano. There are 5 bedrooms not six and the house accommodated 7 adults and 3 children comfortably. The town is delightful and the people friendly and accommodating. New Year's dinner at a local beach restaurant followed by dancing and merriment on the beach with fireworks going off throughout the hillsides was magical. Walk up the hill from the main area in town and buy a pair of handmade shoes. The owners are delightful and willing to set up transportation and cooking classes. An unfortunate incident occured during our stay and they were by our side throughout providing interpreting services for the town physician. A charming brother/sister team.
I would recommend having your own transportation or making arrangements for transportation to enjoy the area to the fullest and for ease in getting from town to town. Local bus tickets must be purchased ahead of time at the "Bar" in town. However, the InterPositano bus tickets can be purchased on board from the driver. The ride through the town on the local bus is worth every cent to get a good overview of the town and see all the sights and possibilities for sightseeing and shopping. I recommend using a driver to see Ravello, Amalfi, Pompeii, Sorrento if you are not proficient in Italian. The roads are hazardous and narrow with hairpin turns on plunging cliffs.
