Cheers for MOL

We just returned from a great trip to the Bahamas and truly enjoyed our stay at Manor of Love - every time I say the name I chuckle (and the folks at Customs do, too). Our group of six (two children - a toddler and preschooler - two thirty something parents and two mid-sixty seniors) were very comfortable in apartment 7, which is on the first floor and has 3 bedrooms, two baths and french doors that open onto a small concrete patio directly bordered with grass and a white sand path that leads to the beach. It was the perfect indoor/outdoor environment for our diverse age span. The young ones could play outside within easy view of the adults. The apartment furnishings were comfortable, well-used and kid-friendly, standing up to the rigors of sand and small hands. The dining area was a little tight for six, but we figured out how to make it work well. The kitchen is fairly well equipped, especially for a frequently used rental. We even baked a cake while there!
The location is superb on many counts. First, the beach is wonderful, and there are numerous beach chairs for ready use. The water is crystal clear with gentle waves and a few lovely small reefs within an easy snorkel swim. Since the beach is so close to the apartment, we didn't need to bring tons of things to it because it was an easy walk to return for lunch, forgotten towels, naps and such. Second, grocery stores are very close and incredibly well-stocked. We even found a full complement of gluten free foods! Heading out toward Lyford Cay, we discovered delicious cappuccinos at News Cafe and very tasty lunches and produce at Goodfellow Farms -- all within minutes from MOL.
Timothy is an incredibly accommodating host, who picks you up and brings you to the airport, provides a quick orientation to the local area and offers some tips on where to find special treats such as the best conch salad. He also returned to the airport after dropping us off with a forgotten item - now, that's hospitable!
