West Tisbury is located in peaceful rural farmland near ocean or sound beaches exclusive to West Tisbury residents and renters and is perfectly placed between picturesque Down Island towns of Vineyard Haven, Edgartown and Oak Bluffs each with their own character and Up Island more rural areas of Chilmark (home to many celebrities), the fishing village of Menemsha, and Aquinnah where the spectacular Gay Head Cliffs are located. Summer activities include: biking, horse back riding at nearby stables, swimming, fishing, antiquing, shopping, eating at great restaurants, authentic Farmer's Market, Agricultural Fair (in August), July 4th Parades, Fireworks, Illumination Night in Gingerbread Oak Bluffs in August. The brand new Zen feeling Master Bath has a large ceramic/tumbled marble shower with hand held on sliding up and down bar, Enjoy the skylight in the shower. There are two sinks in the master bath. All the baths have luxury hotel amenties such as bath crystals and oils, shampoo, soaps, candles, etc. Luxurious thirsty Turkish towels can be found in all 3 bathrooms.

  • All beds have high end mattresses with tempurpedic 2.5 inch toppers. All beds have luxury linens of 400 - 550 thread count sheeting. All beds have a yr round down comforter, plus blankets if needed. Top of the bed designs are mostly from Pottery Barn or other high end imported linens and Matelasse's from Portugal. Different types of pillows are available. Down, foam rubber and hypoallergenic polyester. There is a minimum of one good sized closet per bedroom. A twin size bed can be added to one of the first floor bedrooms to accommodate a young child in one of the Queen bedrooms. The design of the house with two split bedroom wings alllows for privacy for everyone making it a perfect house for two families or a multigenerational family. The 4th bedroom on the air conditioned lower level next to the family room allows teens to have their own space. There are TV's in all the bedrooms with cable channels, terry cloth bath robes in 3 of the bedrooms for 6 adults.

We can also arrange for baby/toddler equipment such as crib, etc. There is filtered delicious well water, central air and separate AC unit on the lower level. The house is located on the south shore area (near Sipiessa) of West Tisbury in a small association of 16 homes (in the million dollar range), each house is on 2 acres of land providing excellent separation from each other. The house is a 5 minute bike ride to Alley's General Store which sells everything you need (milk, eggs, bread, toys, magazines, newspapers).

Go Antiqueing, Go Biking, Go Swimming: Our house is in the perfect location to use as command central. Its a 5-10 minute drive to all the towns of Edgartown, Oak Bluffs and Vineyard Haven where you can shop, antigue, go to the movies, buy ice cream and fudge. The three towns are where the many restaurant options are located. Seafood, continental, French, Italian, Thai, Chinese abound. Sushi is available at the Net Result Fish Market. Although 10 minutes away is the famous Homeport Restaurant (reservations suggested) in the fishing village of Menemsha. And if you prefer to stay at home and have a wonderful family gathering, this is the place. The brand new Weber, Genesis Grill with all the bills and whistles will provide special meals. Fresh fish caught that day can be purchased from several wonderful fish markets. And if you don't want to cook a lobster, Larsen's, and the Net Result will do this for you for an nominal extra charge per pound. Farmer's market abound with delicious home grown organic produce.

Wow, talk about a comfortable atmosphere, proximity to nature trails, the quaint sleepy town nearby; a warm fire and a glowing cup of hot chocolate after a relaxing soaking in the hot tub was all I needed to feel right at home. Your home was extremely well appointed; lavish by most every rental home's standard measure. Thank you ... I'll be sure to return soon.
