Not exactly what I was expecting
Dealing with the owner was my least favorite part of the whole experience. Setting up the contact was pretty simple upon arrival we noticed a couple of things about the property. The owner charged us a cleaning fee which is a complete rip off since the house was far from being clean. When we got there we got smacked with some funny aroma, figured it was just from the house being closed up so we opened up doors and windows to let in the breeze. The refrigerator had a thick layer of ice that started to melt as soon as we put food in it. We had to clean a big puddle of water off the ground as a result. The sound system does not work, all the T.V's have no batteries in the remotes which makes them useless. The range is nice but filthy had lots of caked on grime which wasn't inviting to cook on. The grill outside same story it was also dirty. The steps leading down onto the beach are all in dire need of some upkeep the paint is chipping bad. The the ice chest that is down there is full of dirt and old beer bottles from god knows when. Make sure you bring your water socks you cannot access the beach unless you walk over a bunch of rocks. We ended up cleaning the place so it was up to par and we had an ok stay. We left the house in better shape than when we got there. I contacted the owner about the condition of the house and she was apologetic about the insident but didn't refund us the cleaning fee and it took her 3 weeks to refund me my deposit. I had to threaten with contacting my credit card company in order to get a response from her. Overall I felt I let my party of 8 adults down because I arranged the stay and fell short on delivering a pleasurable experience.
Owner's Response: Hi Emily, You are stating that dealing with me was the least favorite part of the whole experience so why do you say setting up the contact was pretty simple when the contact it's me! I never spoke or email Edgar i don't know who exactly he is or why is he sending this comment!! I have never done or disrepected a client plus the only thing i have done is try to please every single person that rents my beach houses!! You said that there was a funny aroma it was probably the cleaner they used to clean the floors not everybody likes the aromas cleaners from Mexico. Regarding the uncleaned grill and range and batteries i all ready took care of it with the handyman and the cleaning lady. Plus the the ice chest on the beach is an easy access to people walking by i will need to remove it!! You said you need water socks because there is a bunch of rocks i can't do anything about the tides sometimes we have rocks and sometime we have sand that' the ocean :( I did not refund you the cleaning fee because you did used the whole house and i needed to pay somebody to clean the beds, sheets, towels, ect... Plus i did tell you i was going out on my vacation on Aug 5- Aug 20 and that i would send you your deposit when i got home and you agree on it and you even said to me have a great vacation!! You said you had to threaten me with contacting your credit card in order to get a response from me. How could i get a response back to you when i was in Europe with no cell phone plus you knew i was not home. Once i got home i send you right away your deposit the whole amount plus i did not discounted the credit card fee's that where deducted from the deposit and rental I just send you the whole amount. I am sorry that you feel that you let your party of 8 down but when i spoke to people that live around the beach house they said that you guys where having a great time!! I guess like they say let's have a great time and party all weekend and then compliant after to see what we could get back!!. I feel you delivered a pleasurable experience to your group!!! The cleaning fee you paid was only $75.00 that's why i raised the price more to get a better cleaning service!!
