June 2012 Cabin Review

In June of 2012, my wife and 2 children stayed for 10 days at the rental cabin/house owned by Brian. The house was everything we could’ve hoped for. It was very well kept, as in clean. We enjoyed the fenced in backyard, grill, and the fire pit which was finished a couple days after we arrived. The kitchen was nicely stocked with kitchen utensils and appliances. The house was within 6-7 miles of a very nice grocery store. It is very nicely situated for outdoor enthusiasts. There are tons of places to hike, such as Gorges State park, Upper and Lower White Water falls, Courthouse falls, Panthertown (Dismal Falls-not for children or most adults, Schoolhouse Falls), Rainbow Falls (need permission to go to), and many more. The house is located in such a fashion that one could easily drive to Ashville, NC (zoo/shopping) or to the Smokey Mountain National Park. There is also Whisper Lake which has some nice Bass and Bluegills in it for fishing. Whisper Lake is about 1 mile from the house.
I admit, we were a worried about renting a house through Home Away from Home/Vrbo since one always hears stories about the house wasn’t what it looked like in the pictures, etc. However, I commend Brian on his honesty and communication. If there were any questions, Brian was very receptive and always provided an honest answer. If there was anything we ever needed, he did so. This led us to renting from him again this coming summer for 11 days!
In closing, the only thing I could ask of anyone who rents this house would be to treat it as it was your own and thus it can be enjoyed by others for several years.
