Charming Kona Studio's just a short walk to town

We were more than impressed with our lovely Kona accomodations here at Kona Hula Girl. The location was ideally situated minutes from wonderful restaurants and shops in Kona. The owner, Drew, was super friendly and helpful in quickly responding to our questions and supplying us with anything we needed. This was our first time in Hawaii and we can't imagine if we ever return staying anywhere else. We stayed in the Tiki Room --- it's open air so we awoke to lovely floral hibiscus scents and were able to watch the sunset from the window that acts like a headboard. Fantastic! The pictures don't show the extra storage and dressing area in the bathroom which is handy if you don't feel like shutting all the shutters for privacy when changing in and out of swimwear.

There is so much we loved about our stay, too much to list with only 2500 characters. We just feel really lucky to have found this place. We did a lot of research when slecting where to stay. This place seemed too good to be true, for the price...Our fears were unfounded, as it was the perfect location for our 10 night stay. Our flight left at 10pm on Sunday and Drew was gracious to allow a very late checkout being that we had no where else to go. We rented a car and drove all over the island; it's all very beautiful but we didn't see any place we would have rather stayed. It's just about 3 blocks away from Alii Dr. Although we never walked to Alii Dr, free parking was abundant and while driving down Alii we saw the massive back up heading into town. If you want waterfront in Kona you pretty much have to be on Alii Dr, which leads to some pretty bad congestion. We only drove down Alii one day. And felt fortunate that we chose not to stay on Alii Dr.

We enjoyed the Farmers Market and Huggo's on the Rocks in Kona. Night snorkeling with the manta rays was possibly our favorite thing. Though the ride there will make most seasick and our group was filled with screeching people. There is no need to scream at these majestic creatures --- but other than those two drawbacks, it was amazing.
