Margherita/Old Mill apartment is situated in a quiet and relaxing corner of the little hamlet of Nesso. The house is lake front on a private lane of this quiet little Italian village, dating back to Roman times. The original building dated 1600 but just been restored with all the modern comforts. The house is located off the main road next to the river Tof in a peaceful and relaxing position.. Ideal place for couples for a romantic gateaway or for big families up to 8 persons. Private garden and parking. Nesso, 16 km midway between Como and Bellagio, is on the Como 'leg' of the lake. It is an old centre with picturesque groups of houses spread along the hilly slopes and along the shore of the Lake. In Nesso there are few restaurants, grocery, pharmacy, post office. Conveniently located for trips to Bellagio Milan, Lago Maggiore, Garda, Lugano and Switzerland.

Como Lake The Lake Como is clearly the most distinctive feature of the whole area: it is 46 km long and has a width which varies from 4,3 km (between Cadenebbia and Fiumelatte) and 0.43 km (between Torriggia and Careno). The lake covers an area of 146 sq km and has maximum depth of 410 metres. It has two dependable winds known as the Breva and Tivano. The lake is surrounded by both high mountains and gentle hills; some narrow and impassable valleys and others which are wide and mild; densely populated plains; still untouched woods, small suburbs and big towns; lake and mountain villages; raging torrents and big rivers. The territory - which is now divided into two provinces, Como and Lecco has always been an area of intense activity, being a crossing point between Central Europe and the Mediterranean. The influences of different cultures has been a stimulus to the local inhabitants, creating a fascinating artistic tradition. With its tiny villages stacked perilously.

Lovely house in a lovely village

The family of four including two small children stayed in The Old Mill II for 9 days in July. We really enjoyed the well equipped and very cozy house in the charming village of Nesso. The house is most beautifully situated.
