So peaceful and romantic

We stayed at the Treehouse for our 16yr anniversary, and we were so plesantly supprised at what we saw when we drove up. It was absolutely beautiful, with a view of the lake through the tall pine trees. The ivy growing on the nearby trees and the huge elephant ears in the garden, it really set the mood. The pictures really did not capture the true feeling of peace and comfort you feel when you arrive. The stairway leading up to the door to the treehouse was lined with christmas lights, and that also was a nice touch, espically at night. The room was so clean and the decor was so much more elegant than the pics reveal. It really was like a cozy little house in the trees, the view of the garden on the side and the view of the lake and countryside was perfect. I am not what you would call a "country girl" but I really felt at home here and adventurous in a way. I even went out on the little boat with my husband and fished. He was very impressed, and I caught the two biggest fish of the stay. The privacy was also much more than we expected, with it being a guest ranch. It was like we were the only two people in the world. I would suggest the treehouse to anyone who wants to connect with eachother without the distractions of everyday life. But you aren't completely disconnected from the outside world, there is a dsl connection that was very helpful for us, because our cell phone service did not reach in that area, so we stayed in touch with our kids by email. We also got to pet baby goats, they were adorable. The kitchenette was perfect, I am a cook and there was really anything you would need right there. We did drive into Pittsburg, only a short 7 minute drive, to the grocery store to buy food and drinks. The tap water was great, so dont waste your time buying bottled water. This was probably the most affordable anniversary getaway we have had in 16 years and deffinately one of our most memorable. We plan to come back in the fall when the leaves are turning with our kids and stay in the pine grove cottage.
