Although we ourselves live in the UK with our three children, we have family that has been in the Grenoble region for many generations. So when we came to look for a property nearby in the mountains, we instantly fell in love with this villa, which was sold to us by one of our relatives.
Anne & Pascal Dannerolle purchased this villa in 2005
The views from this house are particularly spectacular, and standing on the balcony, whatever the season, will take your breath away. South facing, we have been known to wear T-shirts outdoors in November!
Surprisingly, even in the Alps it is rare to find a house with superb views, but this house looks down to the valley below, and across to three different ranges of mountains. We have often wished we were photographers, because guests usually tell us that our photos have not done the property justice. How frustrating! If only we could capture the beauty and tranquility of the place!
Having three children growing up in the house, we have been very conscious of making the property fun and enjoyable for them. So we have installed a games room in the main house, as well as turning the downstairs garage into a big area for table tennis and football.
' We still cannot believe the view, it is better than any picture. The house was wonderful with everything we could have wished for. We are already hoping to come back ' ..... ' The house had everything and more. The view's stunning- the different colours at every sunset made dinner on the terrace compulsory. Many thanks for providing such an excellent base for our holiday. We would love to return ' ..... ' Very spacious and clean, well equipped. We had a great time, views were amazing. Loved the area ' ..... ' We had a really wonderful time - it was more than all of our expectations. We were speechless when we first looked round the house. A few photographs and the description do not really give the full picture. Thanks again for all your information and help with organising - we have had such a good time.'
The hamlet of Pellenfrey boasts a renowned organic farm restaurant, a working farm, and a stone bread oven where the baker arrives at midnight and stokes up the oven, then sells his bread from a caravan on the corner in the morning (just below the terrace).
