Restful getaway
We had an extended stay at this townhome which is very pleasant and homey. There weren't many people around during winter so we enjoyed peace and quiet. We were disappointed that the weather stayed too cold for the alligator to show his face in the lagoon right outside our bedroom window - that would have been awesome! The kitchen is well equipped, and the owners' notes throughout the home were very helpful. I would recommend this island home to friends - golfers especially would love this place! The beaches on Edisto are beautiful, sunsets are particularly gorgeous. I am giving 4 stars to my review only because the internet connection was slow and frequently slowed to a stop and the cable television reception was frequently choppy or non existing on channels that worked the day before. Also certain channels would come in on one television, but not on one in another room. While these issues were annoying to us during an extended cold weather visit, warm weather visitors would probably not use the internet or television as much as we did.

We upgraded the AT&T internet service over the New Year holiday from their basic service to the next level up. We had no problem operating multiple devices at the same time and receiving large files associated with work.
The television service is with Comcast and in the 5-6 years we have owned this unit, we have never experienced the problems described. To be honest, not having issues with Comcast has been surprising, since the reason we've used AT&T for the internet was due to negative comments from other owners on the island regarding the unreliability of Comcast on Edisto as compared to their service inland.
Nevertheless, we will certainly look into and stress test both (i.e., use a lot of internet and watch a lot of tv!) when we return in May, prior to the upcoming rental season. And we are sorry that our long term renters had this problem.
