Things To Do:
There are 4 lighthouses to explore within 1 hour of the cabin. Owls Head Light (Owls Head), Pemaquid Point Lighthouse (Bristol), Rockland's Breakwater, and Marshall Point Lighthouse, in Port Clyde. There are museums at Pemaquid and Marshall Point. There are very nice public beaches at Pemaquid Point and Popham Beach. Pemaquid Beach has a snack bar, and beach shop. There are galleries, theatre performances, locally made handcrafts, as well as excellent dining opportunities in Damariscotta, Boothbay, Round Pond and Bristol, all minutes away. There are scenic excursions on the Maine Eastern Railroad, investigating flight at the Owls Head Transportation Museum, or just listening to the loons from the deck, or porch swing.
Midcoast Amenities:
You can explore the coastal towns of Damariscotta and Boothbay, enjoying the local seafood and quaint shops. Golf at the Samoset resort or Rockland golf club. Easy drive to Rockland for the Lobster festival, Blues festival, or the Boat show. Thomaston has a great 4th of July day long celebration, ending with spectacular fireworks! There is a Cyber cafe in Damariscotta on Main St, open Monday-Friday, 9-3. There is also Free Wireless Internet availability at ALL Maine Libraries. Damariscotta's Skidompha Library is 10 minutes away, Waldoboro's Public Library is 5 minutes.
