The Lodge at Fernie indulges you with 3600 square feet of expansive living areas in a luxurious, traditional log home furnished with antiques. Three of the five bedrooms have private balconies. The lodge is located on the ski hill at Fernie Alpine Resort in the Rocky Mountains of Fernie, BC. Known for its high annual snowfall and for its powder skiing, in the summer it operates as a mountain bike park with lift access. Fishing, golfing, hunting, hiking & river rafting are some of the additional activities accessible in this rare combination of wilderness and comfort. *Other airports available: Cranbrook at 56 miles, and Glacier International at 117 miles.

Fernie Alpine Resort, in the Elk Valley at Fernie, British Columbia, is on the eastern edge of the Rocky Mountain Trench. The trench is a chain of individual valleys over 1000 miles long, leaving a scar so distinctive it is visible from outer space. Extending from Flathead Lake, MT to the Liard Plain near the Yukon border, the Trench marks the western boundary of the Rocky Mountains. Nine rivers, including the Fraser and Columbia drain the Trench, most entering and leaving through canyons. Activities: ski, board, fish, hunt, golf, river raft, mountain bike, hike, ride horseback, birdwatch & nature tours............. The great outdoors!

Notes: The house has two fireplaces, one in the living room and one in the master bedroom. The kitchen is fully equipped and has a 6 burner gas stove with oven, as well as a JennAir wall oven in the island. Deck: gas BBQ, custom picnic table seating 13 people, hot tub, two patio tables each seating two people, child's bench swing. The professionally landscaped back yard has a firepit area with seating.

We just returned from our second stay at this beautiful property. The accomodations and the owner's friendliness continue to exceed our expectations. This is truly a "home away from home" experience, unlike any other vacation rental we have used in the past. The cleaniness, beauty and location of "The Lodge" make this one of the the BEST rentals in the area. We will be back!
