Lahaina means 'Merciless Sun', since its sunny here almost every day. Its a very colorful town with lots of activity. There is plenty to do right in Lahaina Town but its also very centrally located to daytrip to other parts of the island. Within a 15 minute drive there are numerous world famous beaches and lots to do and see throughout West Maui and you can get to all other parts of the island within an hour, with the exception of driving up to the top of Haleakala and a day trip to Hana.
