Built from native Texas cedar and pine in 2004 using green building practices, this pet friendly home is perfect for those who want to be in the heart of Port A while enjoying the privacy that a house offers over a hotel/condo. The property is located on a quiet dead end street with plenty of off street parking for vehicles, boats, and trailers. Restaurants, shops, entertainment, and beaches are within walking distance. The community pool is close by(see pictures), and free wifi and computer access is available at the computer center, library, and local cafes.

A half hour away in Corpus Christi you'll find the Texas State Aquarium, the Battleship USS Lexington, the Museum of Science and History, Botanical Gardens, minor league baseball, and much more. If you really want to get away from it all take the Jetty Boat across the channel to St. Joseph's Island for a beautiful stretch of vehicle-free beach to explore.

Additional information about rental rates

  • 13% occupancy tax only applies for stays of less than one month
  • Check in time is 4pm; check out time is 11 am.
    A damage deposit of $150 will be refunded upon inspection of property after departure.
    Payment in full must be made within 5 days to secure reservation for stays of less than one month; first months rent and $300 damage deposit required for longer stays. Cancellations for stays of less than one month duration made 15 days prior to arrival date receive a full refund(minus credit card fees); those made less than 15 days from arrival date will be allowed to reschedule. There are no refunds for early departures, except in the case of severe weather events. Guests must be 25 years of age and a full-time member of the party to make a reservation.
    Small pets are welcome.

We recently stayed at this property for the 2nd time over the 4th July weekend and were once again more than satisfied. The location is great and everything you need is at the house for you to use. I would highly recommend this property and would never stay anywhere else.

Great Vacation

We stayed at this property July 22nd through July 31st, and we highly recommend it. The amenities are awesome, including a fully equipped kitchen, laundry facilities and a grill. The location is perfect, close to the beach and to town. Purchase shrimp from the shrimp boats at the Pt. Aransas docks, and be sure to pay a visit to the local candy shop. We hope to return very soon.

Needs a new housekeeper

We were disappointed in the general lack of cleanliness in this property when we checked in. There was dried food stuck under the edges of the glass top kitchen table, the refrigerator top was covered in dust and stains of some unknown substance were streaked down its sides. The inside of the stove was nasty and there were cobwebs on the walls. The kitchen floor tile was sticky from something that had spilled and we found old food particles under the kitchen sink and cabinets. The exhaust vent in the bathroom was so full of dust that I doubt that it had ever been cleaned. The worst of it all was a broken box spring on one of the beds which tilted the bed to one side and it squaeked loudly ever time you moved. The air conditioner in the small bedroom also was very loud and is right next to the headboard. This house needs a thorough spring cleaning or a new housekeeper.
Owner's Response: Guests should be aware that check in time is 4 pm; early arrivals might interfere with the cleaning process. The bed frame that was broken at the time of this guest's stay has been repaired. The air conditioner in the living room is capable of cooling the entire house if you prefer not to have the noise of the unit in each bedroom, and there are also ceiling fans in every room. This property is one of the newest and cleanest on the island, and my guests and I have been consistently satisfied with the performance of my housekeeping team.

This is a cute, well equipped, and very clean cottage. It's only a 5-10 minute walk to the beach & close to the other parts of town, as well. We were so happy that the owners are pet-friendly because we hate to leave our loved one at home. We'll definitely be coming back in the near future!

We had a great 3 days in this vacation home. The property itself is very well furnished and maintained - and spacious...plenty of room for four of us and a dog. It is also very clean. The gas grill is a great bonus (again, it all works fine) and we really appreciated all the kitchen equipment. The owners are also very good at making you feel welcome. We'll definitely stay here again on our next visit....now if they could only add a balcony, it would be perfect!!
