Casa Cabernet is a one bedroom cottage furnished in a country casual way with an exceptionally large living/dining room and well equipped kitchen all with a fireplace in view. All rooms open onto a patio and grape arbor with two picnic tables. Guests have the use of a beautiful pool and cutting gardens when in season. This architect designed cottage is in the heart of wine country and is surrounded by fifty plus acres of vineyards and lovely gardens designed by renowned landscape architect, Thomas Church. Everything is included-high speed wireless internet access, linens, wood for the fireplace, a gardener, a once a week maid, bottled water, and all utilities except telephone. It is within walking distance of more than 6 wineries as well as Dean & DeLuca, a famous gourmet market. The views are spectacular--fields of grapes with gorgeous mountains as a backdrop. There are excellent restaurants nearby. It's the perfect place to relax.

The Napa Valley is pastoral and picturesque with acres of grapes and many wineries. The Valley sits between the eastern and wester slopes and mountains. Casa Cabernet is located in the premier Rutherford appellation. Rutherford is located 2.5 miles from the charming,small town of St. Helena, 15 miles from the city of Napa, and approximately 66 miles from San Francisco. It is possible to fly into Oakland, San Francisco, Sacramento or by private plane to the Napa Airport.

The seasons bring delightful changes to the Napa Valley. In the Spring, bright yellow mustard fills the vineyards. In the Summer, the valley is a carpet of green, and at Casa Cabernet, fresh cantaloupe, tomatoes, squash, peppers, etc. are ripening along with delicious peaches and pears, and eventually apples and citrus. In the Fall, the valley turns many fall colors and the harvest of grapes begin late summer into Fall. In the Winter, the valley is a more quiet place, an unhurried time to visit. The stark brown twiggy vines in the fields are most attractive.

A Charming Cottage in Napa Valley Wine Country

Casa Cabernet exceeded our expectations!! My husband and I were extremely pleased with our accomodations. The cottage and courtyard is perfect for 2 people looking for a private and beautiful place to stay. We were surrounded by vineyards yet only a few minutes away from gourmet shops and restaurants in the lovely town of St. Helena. We arrived late at Casa Cabernet our first night and were delighted to be welcomed with a nice bottle of wine and english muffins with fresh fruit for breakfast. The owner also provided us with a map of biking routes for Napa valley. She is extremely gracious and hospitable. We highly recommend staying at the lovely Casa Cabernet!!

We were privileged to stay in Casa Cabernet for two years while we built our house in the Napa Valley. We couldn't have chosen a better place. The house was perfect for two people, beautifully furnished, with amazing views of the vineyards and gardens out every window. We were welcomed with fresh flowers and vegetables from the garden on many occasions, and always felt at home. We could swim on hot afternoons, and enjoy the hospitality of the owner, plus marvel at her fabulous garden. We had our own driveway and complete privacy, yet we were royally taken care of with weekly maid service. This Casa is located in an ideal location for enjoying the many restaurants and vineyards of the Napa Valley. We loved it !!!!

Relaxing in luxury

I've stayed at Casa Cabernet many times with my boyfriend. It is so relaxing to fall asleep to the glow of the moon on the vineyards with the sliders open to the patio. There is no patio with a more peaceful and gorgeous view in all the Napa Valley. The chef-equipped kitchen and BBQ are the perfect set-up to cook a meal to enjoy in the garden with one of those bottles of wine from a nearby winery. It's decorated simply and very tastefully, and super clean (this is coming from a neat freak). It is also super well-located to all the fabulous restaurants in the Napa Valley, such as the French Laundry. The owner is congenial and welcoming, but give guests plenty of space. I recommend Casa Cabernet highly and look forward to going back myself.
