An fabulous, unforgettable experience! This place is truly one of a kind.
We were a group of 6 friends who stayed here the entire month of January, 2014. The home is well-maintained, other than a couple of issues which I'll mention below. The main house is truly beautiful, all graceful curves and fabulous views from the living room and all three bedrooms. The kitchen is adequate (no dishwasher, but there is a 4-burner stove, a microwave, fridge & toaster oven). The pool and patio areas are truly amazing, and make the place quite unforgettable. We spent the vast majority of our time outside around the pool, where there was ALWAYS a wonderful breeze. The pool was big (maybe 40 ft), and deep enough for diving, but strangely it had no steps. Freddy kept it immaculate, cleaning the pool at least twice a day. Freddy and Louisa were very helpful, but be forewarned that neither of them speaks English. (We used Google Translate to converse with them.) Yes, the driveway is scary the first time, but you do get used to it and it never posed a problem. A 4x4 is definitely mandatory. It's about a 15 minute drive to town or the beach. The home was very comfortable, although all the beds in the main house are "futon" type mattresses, and quite hard. The master suite is lovely, very spacious with a large closet and a trippy shower (the master bath is in one of the round, tiki-roofed strutures). Speaking of bathrooms, only the 2 bathrooms in the main house have hot water. Those in the two guest houses are cold water only; apparently the Cabina is supposed to have hot water, but the hot water heater was broken during our visit, as was the A.C. in the upstairs cabina BR. Also, the 2-story Cabina, which is where the cold-water spa is located, is somewhat isolated from the main house, down a flight of 72 steps, and there is no wi-fi reception down there. On the plus side, the downstairs Cabina BR is spacious and lovely, with a good queen-size bed and a big patio area with great views. The other 2-BR guest house is just 20 feet from the main house, and is quite cute. Both beds in the little guest house have innerspring mattresses. However, only one of the BRs has AC; you leave the door between the BRs open to have AC in the center BR. Also, you must go thru the center BR to get to the bathroom, the exterior door or the 2nd bedroom, so the center BR in the guest house is "semi-private". Having 30 acres makes it very quiet, private & secure, though the land is too steep for walking! But it's fabulous, & staying here made us feel like royalty!
