A breathtaking ocean view strikes you immediately upon entering our tastefully decorated island style home. Brazilian koa hard wood floors impart a sense of luxurious living.
Entire living area and master bedroom (en suite) opens to large ocean front covered lanai. The smoke-free home is situated in the quiet countryside town of Laie, @ one hour from the Honolulu airport.
The house is on a narrow peninsula and has fabulous views of ocean, beach, and islands. A private beach access to a pristine beach is only a few steps down a quiet lane.
The tip of the peninsula is preserved as park. This is real Hawaii without high rise hotels. World famous surfing in front of house as well as Sunset, Pipeline, and Waimea surf beaches close by.
Cable TV and high speed wireless Internet are provided.
Chick and Cookie are veterinarians that live in the wine country of California. They come to their home on the islands frequently for rest and recreation.

We have always loved Hawaii. We had an opportunity to buy a home on the north shore of Oahu and couldn't pass it up.
Aloha Chick & CookieWhat a great place! We had many meals on the lanai. Breakfast will never be the same. The views from your beautiful & comfortable home are amazing. We thank you so much for allowing us to stay here. 9 days was just not enough.30 to 40 ft. wave on Christmas day were unbelievable. The rest of the time the surf was amazing. We were beat up a bit but the beaches were full of activity. Waimea was great for body surfing & body boarding although the huge waves beat us down to size a number of times. The beach to the left of the lanai was great for long walks and the sand was fine & compact.P.C.C was a great show…loved the Samoan presentation…a real funny & informative show.Saw sharks of the Haleiwa coast and that was a once in a lifetime experience. A great half day tour.Hanauma Bay and Shark’s Cove were great. Saw lots of sea life.Turtles were abundant at Haleiwa Surf Beach. Saw at least a dozen in just ½ hour.Yummy treats at Ted’s Bakery. The Glazers…like a donut were fresh and delicious.Parasail and Jet Ski at Wikiki was another fun activity although we should all have taken a good dose of Dramamine cuz the seas were rough. All and all a great vacation for the 7 of us. My family thanks you so much. The Arbuckles
Just came back home to Texas after spending a wonderful week on Oahu. The home we rented from Chick & Cookie was amazing to say the least. It was everything plus more as described. If you are into fabulous ocean views with a gentle breeze, this home is for you. We spent every morning and evening on the huge lanai. We were a group of 3 couples and we had plenty of room in this lovely home. The home included everything we needed to spend the day at the beach, from beach towels to boogie boards.
The location was the best part. We did drive all over the island during our stay, but the best part was driving back into Laie in the evenings. The guys played golf at Turtle Bay, a quick 10 minute drive up the road, while the gals lounged on the beach. We went on the Best of the West tour and got to swin with 40 + spinner dolphins and witnessed not one, but two complete whale breaches about 10 feet from our boat. That moment is etched in my memory forever. The Paradise Luau was the highlight of my sister-in-law. We toured the Dole Pineapple Plantation as well as spending the day in the North Shore town of Haleiwa. I lived on Oahu for seven years and have visited a couple of times since moving back to Texas. If it had been just my husband and I, we would of never left this lovely home and the surrounding beaches this past week.

My wife and I and our four children had a wonderful time at this beach house. The views were spectacular, the private beach was heavenly, and a short walk to the end of the point each morning provided some of the best sunrises I have ever seen (breaching whale one morning added to the ambiance). You are also a quick drive to world class and beginner surf, snorkeling, and some of the best food trucks in the world! Location was great, views were great! Can't go wrong with this property!
We had a wonderful time, home looked great. Was clean and well organized. Driveway was really narrow, might want to trim the bushes back a bit. Other than that, we had a wonderful time and would love to return to the home that my wife grew up in.
Just spent 6 days here which were wonderful! I want to write about things that I didn't see in other reviews.
First, the owners were great to work with! Everything was in order and worked great. The home is off kam highway so the only thing you hear is the waves below you. We spent many hours on the lanai just waking up to the waves and relaxing while we surfed on the wifi.
The garage really did have everything you'd need at the beach--snorkling gear, boogie boards, beach chairs, etc. Don't bring anything until you see what you need. At foodland they have anything else that may not be there. Or if you want new, a snorkling set was around $25. Since it's the winter we went to turtle bay and snorkled there at Kuilima Cove. It's protected even against the big winter waves.
Plenty to do away from Waikiki--PCC within 5 min, kualoa ranch ATV tour, and of course Pearl Harbor, Aloha stadium swap meet, and dole whips! The beach is about a 5 min walk and pretty serene and quiet.
The washer and dryer worked well and were welcome halfway through so you only have to pack half your clothes. Hit costco on your way there and you'll be good! No air conditioning but since you're right on the beach the tradewinds are constantly cooling you. I don't think we broke a sweat the whole time.
Thanks again! We hope to be back!
Beautiful house that was well maintained on the point of Laie. Wonderful sounds of waves from north shore was so soothing. Patio door led out to Lanai from master bedroom. Nice quiet area which has eating areas and food market at bottom of hill. Polynesian Cultural Center is a short walk. A nice private sand beach is a 5 minute walk. Highly recommended rental with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms which would be great for 3 couples or a family. Easy access to North Shore as well as rest of island. Chick and Cookie were very professional to deal with. Aaron the manager was very accommodating and friendly. A easy 5 star rating
My husband and I were celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary with a 2 week trip to Hawaii. After careful consideration we decided on Chick & Cookie's lovely home. The property was clean and maintained. The view from the lanai was great!! We spent a lot of time relaxing on the lanai and enjoyed meals there as well. We were close enough and enjoyed the drive to Honolulu for sight seeing. We visited Pearl Harbor, climbed Diamond Head, went to the Aloha Swap Meet, Pali Lookout, Waimea Falls, Kohala Ranch, Dole Plantation. We also enjoyed sunrises from Laie Point, and the nearby beach and sunsets from the lanai and Sunset Beach. Sampled food from several North Shore shrimp trucks, and local restaurants. This house is close to grocery store, eateries, and a short drive to the North Shore and many beaches and parks. Thanks Chick & Cookie for sharing your beautiful house!!!

The Polynesian Cultural Center is situated in town as well as the Mormon Temple. The Kuilima Golf Course at Turtle Bay resort is ten minutes by car. This is Hawaii's only 36 hole golf facility featuring an 18 hole Arnold Palmer course.
Many free beach parks as well as hiking trails through the coastal mountains abound. The home has three bedrooms and two baths. Also, two single futon beds as well as foam pads for sleeping on the lanai. All services are only minutes from the house including groceries, video rental, pizza, medical, etc
Other Activities: Kite-boarding, wind surfing, snorkeling, SCUBA, surfing.
