About Tudi Thiele and Wash Ashore

I spent four years in college hearing stories of my friend's family adventures on Cape Cod, MA. As an adult, I wanted to be able to extend a beautiful, clean, affordable house to families in search of a place to have their own summer vacation become a part of the fabric of their family's life. Family time together, away from the stress of daily grind routines that can, if we're not careful, drag the joy out of the most important thing we have in this life--family, is the most valuable gift we can give ourselves. I hope that my house, Wash Ashore, becomes a place where your family can reconnect and build years of happy moments that layer your lives with joy and fond memories.

Tudi Thiele and Wash Ashore purchased this house in 2008

Why Tudi Thiele and Wash Ashore chose Yarmouth Port

This location is ideal because it is close to everything, yet part of a sleepy Cape village that allows for just going at your own pace. Situated just north of Rte. 6A it abuts the beautiful bay and tidal flats that keep your senses aware that the ocean is only a few minutes away. It allows you to feel part of a community but at the same time, like a visitor who gets to see everything for the first time. A desirable location, you're close to sandy beaches, restaurants, shopping, Edward Gorey house, ferries, homemade ice-cream, mini-golf, whale watches, charter boat fishing, ferries to Nantucket, antique shoppes, The Cape Cod Playhouse, clam shacks, Cape Cod Braided Rug Company, art studios, glass blowing, whatever you wish. You can be energetic or laid back--your choice. A good choice to have on your vacation!

Plus, grocery shopping is just a 10 minute walk away, a luxury on Cape Cod! Five golf courses within 20 minutes drive. You pick, it's all right there for you as you wish.

What makes this house unique

The minute you enter the front door, you will get a sense of peacefulness. The solid wood beams in the living room, the open concept of the floor plan, the wide open space of the huge back yard--all give your family a sense of being together but not on top of each other! It's a huge breath of 'Phew! We're on vacation! Let's relax and enjoy every inch of this time!'

Not only a house - a home

  • 5 of 5
Everything was going very well, he have had a amazing vacation time in yarmouth. We all love the house and the cosy atmosphere in it. Also the surroundings and neighborhood are very nice, calm and pleasant. Beaches and restaurants are nearby in every direction. We had to decide to jump into high waves in the east or to have it more gentle at a beach in the south.
Peterson market for example is a very nice supermarket and quite near to the house.
The conversation with wash and thudi was always a pleasure and very helpful for us people coming from europe.

More Than We Expected!!

  • 5 of 5
Absolutely wonderful! We vacation in Cape Cod every summer and this year, we chose to stay in a central location because we love to explore and visit different areas on the cape. This home was perfect for our needs. It is located on a quiet street, perfect for an early morning walk/run. There is a farm located at the end of the street that you can visit. What a great neighbourhood! The home is walking distance to a great market, we had everything we needed close by. The owner of this home, Tudi, is very thorough and has made her own quide books with reviews of beaches, shopping and activities for everyone in the family. We took her advice and discovered a side of the cape that we did not expect! Mayflower beach is a five minute drive from the home and it is absolutely beautiful! Tudi is very thoughtful, easy to contact ,and she provided us with everything we needed to make our holiday stress free. The home is spacious, has three large bedrooms, two full bathrooms, a great living room and a very well stocked kitchen. The outdoor shower in the backyard is very convenient and we used it often. We loved that a cleaning fee was included in the price and when we arrived, the home was spotless. We could not have asked for anything more. I cannot think of anything negative to say except that one week was not enough. Thank you Tudi for making our summer vacation so perfect!!

A gem!!

  • 5 of 5
This was our first trip to Cape Cod. It will not be out last. We are scheduled to return in Sept 2014 and will stay at Wash Ashores again. It is a great cottage. Clean, roomy and with an up to date kitchen. It is well located with a wonderful little market around the corner. Although not on the beach, several are close by, just a short drive away. Tudi, the owner of the property, is a real gem, and will go out of her way to ensure that your stay is memorable.

Wash Ashore

  • 5 of 5
"Wash Ashore" was a perfect get-away for our family of 5 (with 3 small children) for 5 days.
It was quiet, peaceful and very relaxing.  It is SAFE for small children to walk or run around in the neighborhood! In fact, we saw many old people taking a walk. My husband (who runs the Boston Marathon every year) ran 8-10 miles every morning from the house. He said the roads and trails were "gorgeous",
perfect and very safe for running. The person that wrote the negative review could have taken much safer routes instead of running along 6A.

The surrounding beaches were just breath-taking on the west side (bay with no waves = perfect for small
children) and the east side (amazingly beautiful sandy beaches).

The house had everything we needed.  We enjoyed cooking fresh fish for dinner every day.  We even exercised in the basement with a DVD player while washing clothes.  The house was conveniently located near the beaches, stores, and even the Cape Cod YMCA.  Peterson's Market was a great place to buy fresh fish and groceries.

The house looks small in the picture, but it is a 2-story house with a basement and pretty roomy. We enjoyed playing games in the beautiful living room at night after a long day at the beach.

We would love to come back to Cape Cod, and if we do, we want to stay at "Wash Ashore" again!
Thanks so much, Tudi!

Wash Ashore

Wash Ashore is a lovely home in a friendly, relaxing neighborhood. The house was as advertised. It was very clean and had amenities that we were not expecting. We enjoyed communicating with the owner, Tudi. The restaurant, Chapins, is close and quite a treat. As middle-aged couples we found that this was ideal for us.

wash ashore

  • 3 of 5
The Wash Ashore rental was lovely. It was located in a quiet neighborhood and was relaxing. We have been going to different areas on the cape for the past 31 years, and are used to biking walking and beaching. The wash ashore home would be perfect for someone who is not interested in alot of activity and would like to relax. It is most likely best for a family with small children as it is a very difficult walk to the beach and there is no access to the bike path from the house. This made it difficult for myself to go for a run, walk or bikeride as 6A has no shoulder on the road. This made it impossible for us to allow our young teanager and her friend to go out on the roads as teenagers like to explore the town activities and also the beach which was approximately 2 miles away.
