Hi, my name is Rick and my wife's name is Susan. We have three children ranging from early college to middle school. We live in Bradenton Florida. A long hike from Montana but we definitely try to make it up to Montana either during the summer (to cool off!) or during winter break for a little skiing.
Thanks for looking and we hope to see you in our guest book soon!
Our family has owned this property since the early 60’s. In 2001 we finally decided to build this house on the lot. We try to vacation ourselves here a few times a year although it is long trip from Florida. But we truly love Montana so this is a keeper for us! This lot is No. 10 (in the middle) of 18 lots in the Piedmont tract. All the lots have lake frontage and most have about 104 or so feet on the lake. But the most unique part of the lot and the other surrounding is the depth. All the lots extend to Sylvan road (the paved road back up the hill). Lot No. 1 to your North has 1,384 feet of depth, this lot has 1,297 feet of depth, and lot No. 18 is 1,076 feet deep. Total area for this lot is 2.93 acres.
Every sense you have is stimulated by the location; but not in the 'traditional' way you would be if you were to walk through the streets in a bustling city. If you are from a busy area such as the city or a suburban location, one of the first things you will notice is the quietness and silence of the area with the exception of a bird chirping or a perhaps a distant boat in the background. Sometimes you actually have to take a day or two to adjust but you soon realize how you take for granted the noisy 'normal' environment back home is.
If you fly into Montana one of the first things I notice when I step outside the airport in Kalispell is the smell of the evergreen trees. It seems as if you have just walked into a Christmas tree yard during the holiday season.
At the house the main benefit is, of course, the view. Living on the Northeast area of the Lake is simply the best area. You get the best sunlight, the best views, the best weather, and few if any bugs (I have yet to be bit by a mosquito ever since I have been at my house!). Plus you are close to one of the neatest towns in the valley, Bigfork. Unlike most waterfront lots on the Lake, this one is situated far enough from the highway as so you will not hear or sense the presence of any motor vehicles except for the occasional neighbor slowly rambling down the dirt road in the front of the house.
Let's put it this way - if I was to ever have the ability to quit my day job in Florida (praying for those lucky numbers!!), guess where you would find myself and my family all summer?? (oh, and not to mention, one less waterfront lake house off the rental market ;-)!!
You will enjoy this property. We recently had one tenant who rented from us multiple weeks in the summer for years and years. They could have chosen from many other properties each year but came back to us year after year. And his reason for leaving - they took the plunge and bought their own house nearby on the lake!
