Shabby Chic Beach House located in the heart of the Famous Mission Beach. Seconds from the ocean, sand or the bay. Close to all restaurants, shops, cafes, parks, & water sports. There is an assigned parking for the rental close by. The beach and the bay are both within walking distance away (seconds!) Perfect for couples! There is an open up, full size sofa that sleeps two, in addition to the queen size bed upstairs. It is a loft with two floors with brand new Jacuzzi tub, travertine shower, hardwood flooring throughout. Kitchen has every stainless steel appliance and utensil.
This was our second stay at this beautiful home in Mission Bay. We loved it just as much as the first time, 3 years ago. We slept better on this bed than we do in our bed at home. The full size kitchen, large bathroom (with amazing shower/tub), washer/dryer in unit, large living room and balcony over looking Mission Blvd are amazing!! Walk to the beach, shops, restaurants - no need for car. But if you do rent one (and we did) there is a designated parking spot. This home has speakers placed throughout and you can enjoy your favorite music anywhere (even in the bathroom!). The host (Ozlem) is quick to reply to emails and extremely friendly and helpful!! Highly recommend this one!!
First off, apologies for the tardy review!
We were totally taken by the pictures of this property and wanted a home away from home during our stay in San Diego.
Ozlem provided precise instructions with regards to how to get to the property, where the allocated parking space was (although it admittedly took a couple of times round the block to find it in the dark), and most importantly how to get IN to the property - complete with photographs to guide you in through gates and gardens etc.
Once inside, we were greeted by a nice welcoming postcard and bottle of wine, some contact details and a further map of the parking space location.
We immediately recognised the place from the pictures. It’s a beautiful, quirky property full of character and a shrine to the owners travels and style. There are beautiful dark wood floors throughout, a very well equipped kitchen, huge living area, a great outdoor patio to allow people watching on Mission Boulevard. The bedroom occupies the mezzanine level and it a great space with a comfortable bed, desk/work area (if required), some cupboard space and a TV.
The house is one block from the ocean, there are numerous cafes, restaurants, bars, grocery stores and rental shops in the immediate area.
There are definitly a few bumps in the night…the refridgerator makes a crazy noise every now and then, the little water feature outside does its little creaky thing all night long and any time a large vehicle goes along Mission Boulevard at high speed there is definitely a bit of a shake in the building…but that’s all good once you get used to it! That and the crowd at Guava Beach Bar on certain nights, but hey, you can't be in amongst the 'buzz' of a place without a little noise right? If you want extreme serenity…then rent a cottage in the country!
Any criticisms…well nowhere is really perfect, but nothing major at all here. A few lightbulbs out here and there, a few remote controls needing new batteries, and check out time of 10am is a little too early also.
Would happily return to and recommend this property.
Its very comfortable, unique, well maintained, in a fantastic location, with a friendly professional owner.
My husband, myself, and our pup booked this rental for 6 nights in August. Easy and open communication with the owner. Loved the location, close to the beach and several restaurants. Property was very clean. Kitchen was fully stocked. Only complaint would be that there were only 2 bath towels for 6 days, would have liked an extra set of towels especially as things don't dry well in the humid weather. One external complaint would be the noise factor, as this is directly on Mission Blvd, which we already knew about from other reviews. Wasn't an issue for us most days. Bike rental in shop below house was very convenient. Quick bike ride to Pacific Beach and lots of restaurants. Very relaxing getaway in Mission Beach.
Love this place, will stay there again, would highly recommend it .Very convenient to everything. We are looking forward to staying there again next year.
The house was exactly as described. The location is excellent and the house is well equiped and a great place to hang out. The only thing that prevents an excellent rating is the loudness of the block. Be prepared for nightlife in the area but otherwise I recommend it without hesitation. The furnishings, including the bed were very comfortable and there is great artwork to enjoy. I also highly recommend renting a bicycle at Cheap Rentals less than half a block away. For $9 you have the use of a bike for the day and miles of beautiful (and flat) bicycle trails around the bay and up and down the coast.
Great place, very comfortable. Extremely hospitable owner. Everything laid out. Parking at first tough to find, but she has a map. Great TV setup, kitchen, wood floors. I do triathlons and it's very accessible to ride down mission blvd and run around bay.
High speed wireless internet included, wide screen TV, Bose surround sound stereo system, wood burning fireplace, open beam vaulted ceilings, washer and dryer included, bedroom television with VCR and DVD. Italian style balcony includes seating and a little BBQ. Read your newspapers get your fresh brewed coffee and mouth watering pastries every morning from the little quaint coffee shop downstairs. Decorated by award winning designer. Every detail is eye catching!
