The residence of choice for visiting guest artists for the Lancaster Symphony Orchestra, this lovely old home is located on one of the finest streets in the city. It is a short walk to interesting restaurants, art galleries, shopping, and the Fulton Theatre. It is 10 minutes by car to the Amish countryside. The house is one of Lancaster's coveted one and one-half story cottages, and is furnished with beautiful but comfortable antiques, making it the perfect place to relax between your adventures in the city and country. Play the piano, or enjoy the extensive music library. Take a nap on one of the beds, fitted with Tempur-Pedic mattresses and lovely linens. This house was our home for years and holds many precious memories for us. We hope to help you create lasting memories as well. (Nothing makes us happier than helping guests commemorate a special and/or surprise event such as birthdays, anniversaries, or engagements. No request is too unusual - just ask!)

The City of Lancaster is the oldest inland city in the United States, located close to the Amish countryside. The City boasts a rich life, with a wonderful theatre, art galleries, restaurants, shopping, and even a top notch minor league ball club -- the Barnstomers. Outside the city are picturesque Amish Farms, exceptional antiquing, as well as local attractions like the Wilber Chocolate Factory, Landis Valley Museum, and Mount Gretna (a gem of architecture and historical arts community). A quilting paradise, Lancaster has a rich tradition for needlework of all kinds. There is an exceptional quilt museum, and quilt and fabric stores too numerous to count. We can arrange individualized quilting lessons at your request. From Lancaster it is also just 75 minutes or less to Gettysburg or other Civil War attractions. The City also has a beautiful old train station serviced by Amtrak.

Notes: The non-working fireplace is the living room is made of beautiful marble and tile. The house is older, with somewhat steep, winding stairs and wood floors throughout. Because of this, it is not the ideal place for toddler, as it will require extra attention on the parent's part. We can provide baby gates is desired.

My husband and I very much enjoyed our stay at The Symphony House. It is even more quaint in person. We were greeted by the owner who showed us around and explained how things worked, even the pre-loaded ipod, we are probably the last 2 people on earth who doesn't own one. We hope to return to The Symphony house as all our family live in the area and with a 3 month old in tow and a crib on premises, the Symphony House will be our first pick. I would absolutely recommend this property, as I already have to friends and family, especially if they want a centrally located property that is just minutes from everywhere in Lancaster County.

Amazing Getaway!

I recently stayed in this wonderful Lancaster city house, and it was nothing short of spectacular. It's convenience to all the great amenities that the city and area has to offer is perfect. It is a perfect place for a weekend getaway or a weeks vacation, with all that the surronding area has to offer. The inside of the home is so inviting, with splendid nooks, cozy bedrooms, and a serene and peaceful backyard garden. The home, simply put, is Cozy. It makes for a great shopping home, being near to the fantastic Lancaster Farmer's Market, and the Outlets within 30 mins drive. It is also a fun place for some serious R & R. I enjoyed my stay at this home and would recommend it to anyone.

This house is a wonderful place to get away! It is absolutely beautiful inside and out, and has charm to spare. It is easily within walking distance of many downtown Lancaster attractions, and within a short drive of the outlets and other tourism sites. I was so pleased to stay here!
