Like a Parisian Apartment

  • 5 of 5
My husband and I booked this property after spending a week in the area this summer while our daughter was at Interlochen, with the plans to spend a long weekend with my brother and sister in law. Unfortunately, they were unable at the last minute to join us, so the apartment was more extravagantly sized than we required. It was so completely lovely, though, that we did not regret having it on our own. The space itself has the feel of a Parisian apartment--age and history embued with an individualistic, modern aesthetic, a great balance of comfort and elegance. The details of the decor exceeded what you typically find in a unit designed for rental--the art on the wall, the books on the shelf--felt like a home rather than someone's investment project. The attention to lighting was fantastic: in addition to the expected overhead lighting, there are beautiful overhead fixtures and area lighting that add both atmosphere and utility. Ceilings are enormously high, and the space has much natural light in all but the second bedroom (which is cunningly decorated in a richer color palate and a bit more ornate feel to emphasize a sumptuous feel), and overlooks the front lawn of the property. The Master suite is truly lovely: big enough to be comfortable and small enough to be cozy, with a gigantic window and a tremendous bathroom with a walk in closet with a closet system. We stayed for a long weekend in the fall and did not cook our meals, but I inventoried the kitchen, and it was well stocked, with knives, pots, etc. of higher quality than often found in rentals. Very coo-friendly, though the table is very small, and could only seat 4. The photos on the site truly cannot convey the loveliness of this apartment. The property itself has a couple of good Italian restaurants, an artisanal bakery, winery, coffee roaster/shop, boutiques, a Pilates studio, and a large wooded park with beautifully groomed and marked trails, all of which we used. It is minutes away from any part of downtown Traverse City, and yet is perfectly self contained with amenities if the day is rainy, lazy or both. This is an accommodation we hope to visit again and would recommend without hesitation.

Wonderful accomodations!

  • 5 of 5
My mom, sister-in-law and I celebrated a milestone birthday in Traverse City and were fortunate enough to stay at this lovely condo. Although it looked exactly like the photos online the photos do not do it justice. It is beautiful and comfortable, clean and well-maintained. The location is great for day trips and there are also many great shopping and eating options at The Commons. Highly recommended.

Beautiful TC Accommodations!!

  • 5 of 5
The group that I stayed with thoroughly enjoyed the condo and the amenities of the surrounding village. It was well presented upon check-in for our stay. The condo itself was very spacious and contained many fine structural finishes, as the pictures clearly depict. It was in a great location. Downtown dining and nightlife was within a short walking distance or a quick cab ride. Even the permanent residents who call Grand Traverse Commons "home" were very pleasant and sociable. We visited the Pleasanton Bakery one morning, one of several shops at The Village, and were very impressed with the baked goods. You can't go wrong with this rental property! Thank you for everything Annie!

Can't wait to return!

Can't wait to return!

My friends and I recently spent a weekend here for a Girls' Getaway. This condo is absolutely incredible! It's exactly as it appears in the pictures.

First I would like to start by explaining how awesome the owner Annie, is to deal with. Being a first time VRBO user I had some difficulties with booking however Annie was patient with me and answered all of my questions quickly. She also provides a welcome letter with clear, easy to follow directions and wonderful suggestions on what to do in the area.

The condo/condo building is a must see. Google the history (Traverse City State Hospital) and you will be amazed. The condo can best be described as "felt like home". None of us wanted to leave we were so comfortable. It was very spacious for our group of 4 and not once did we feel like we were cramped. Beds were super comfy ( I may have written down the model number of the pillows because I liked them so much :); towels were extremely soft. We loved the windows which let in lots of sun.

The building itself is well maintained and very secure. The hallway to the condo can be a bit dark at times however there are light switches near the elevator if you need to light your way. The lower level was filled with amazing shops and restaurants. Everything from artwork to jewelry to unique home decor to clothing. The coffee at Cuppa Joe was delicious and the ice cream at the MI Farm Market was the best I've had (it's Moomers ice cream). We also visited the Underground Cheesecake Company which is in a separate building on the property - it's a must do! We did not eat meals at the property but heard great things about the restaurants there.

Downtown Traverse City was close by so I felt the location was convenient to everything we needed.

I would 100% recommend this property to friends and family. I will also look at booking again since we enjoyed it so much. Stay here - it will not disappoint!
