If you’re bored with the same getaways over and over, why not try something “old”? Take a trip “back in time”. Come to History’s Window where you can experience the charm and character of the past blended with modern amenities. The house has two antique furnished bedrooms downstairs and a bedroom and den area upstairs. We have DirecTV with premium programming and Sunday NFL ticket, available on both TVs and wireless internet connection for your laptops. The kitchen is brand new and has all the modern conveniences such as microwave, dishwasher, smooth top stove, and wine chiller. There is a laundry room with full size washer/dryer. The kitchen is furnished with all cooking and dining needs as well as a gas grill on the side deck. The house is located on the famous Railroad Grade Road facing the New River. You have access to hiking on our mountain, fishing or playing on our river front, sledding on our hillside during winter, and all that country farm life offers. 15 min from Boone.

  • There are two full size bedrooms on the main level. Each bedroom is furnished with the owners original antiques dating back to the 1940s & 50s. The master bedroom has it's own electric fire place with the original hand carved mantel. The old meets the new with it's private spacious bathroom with jacuzzi tub and stand up shower. The second bedroom has an electric fireplace and it's own private access to the side deck. The gated loft upstairs offers a bedroom and a den area with sleeper fouton.

After dinner, unwind in front of the 42” satellite TV with premium channels and the ultimate sports package! The kids will have plenty of space to play board games, watch TV, or take a nap upstairs in the gated loft area. Be sure to watch for the deer grazing in the daylily fields from the upstairs balcony. After a fun-filled day enjoying our riverfront, or hiking on our mountain, try out our wine chiller and enjoy a cold glass out on the covered front porch where you can enjoy the musical sounds of the New River flowing by, and if you are lucky enough watch the soft snow gently falling on the river.

NO SMOKING is allowed inside . Scoop and bags available for you to clean up after Spot!

Things to do at History's Window: If you enjoy fishing, you might like to try your luck in our pond stocked with catfish, blue gill, and large-mouth bass. No need to bring your fishing poles cause we will provide those for you! Some folks enjoy fly fishing from our river banks. During the Summer, you may even pick your own vegetables from our garden to make salads or a side dish for supper. For quiet time, curl up in an antique rocker reading old magazine articles from the '20s-'50s.

Winter Specials:: RENT 2 NIGHTS AND STAY THE 3rd NIGHT FREE (valid on reservation stay dates to May 21, 2009)

We have stayed here the last 2 weekends we were in the Boone area and it has been great. It is very nice and great owners. Cozy cottage - neat loft area complete with safety gate for the little ones. Also has a fire pit near the river across the street. Got to cut our own Christmas trees to bring home. Good hometown restaurant within 1/2 mile. 10 minutes to ASU campus.

Excellent place to stay we enjoyed every minute. I took my mom, 2 daughters, 2 grandchildren and 2 dogs and had a wonderful time. Owners provide good customer service, well mainted and clean. Nice pond and river to fish in - will definitely go back. Very close to downtown boone. I would highly recommended this property. Description was accuracte - made you feel right at home.
