A large four bedroom / 4 bath estate with dock is located on Key West’s only canal, making this the perfect home for boaters and kayakers. The main house, tiled throughout, is comprised of 3 King bedrooms, 3 baths, large open floor plan with living room and dining room, and laundry room. The detached in-law cottage, perfect for your in-laws (!), holds one King bed, a twin bed, and full bath. The furnishings are comfortable chic -- comfortable enough to kick back and relax, but chic enough to be stylish. All of the interior doors are made up of Tiffany style stained glass -- a must see! The outdoor space is the big seller with its winding brick walkways, stunning landscapes, covered patio, wet bar, and outdoor Smith and Hawken dining set. The swimming pool, outdoor fountain, gazebo and sun deck really make this a private home you'll never want to leave. Two single kayaks included. To avoid scams, be sure to speak with someone in our local office.

Excellent vacation home in Key West!!!!!

My family and I (9 adults) stayed at the Heron Estate for the 2nd year this past August (also stayed September 2008). Over all the house is a home away from home!! We enjoyed the fact that it is on a canal with ocean access (you have 2 kayaks to use), has a fantastic pool and all the creature comforts of home (incl. wireless internet, flat screen TV, stereo, bbq grill, well equiped kitchen, etc..etc). The reservations staff is a pleasure to work with and go out of their way to insure you have a fantastic stay. I highly recommend the Heron Estate and will be back for a 3rd time in 2010!!!!
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Adventure Seekers, Tourists without a Car, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, People with Disabilities

Great Family Vacation House

We had a toddler, 3 children, 4 adults, and a senior on our trip - very multi-generational. It was a GREAT set up for us (we rented the "pool house" too, so we could keep the toddler in a nap friendly environment). The kitchen isn't terribly large, but the outdoor kitchen area (bar, grill) more than made up for it. And the canal was FABULOUS - every day at least one of the kids went out kayaking. It only took about 10 minutes by car to get to the main drive and go shopping or site seeing, and in 15 minutes we were on the beach for Christmas day. Only 2 TVs on the property (one in the house, one in the pool house), but we didn't go to sit and watch TV all day...although we brought the Wii and the space was perfect for it! If we go back to Key West, we would be THRILLED to be able to stay there again.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Adventure Seekers, Girls Getaway, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway
