Located in Benzie County on Michigan's famed West Coast, historic Frankfort was noteworthy in the 1800s as a lumber, shipping and railroad town, as well as a summer getaway for tourists. Today, it continues to be a popular destination for vacationers. It has acquired a reputation for great fishing and as an outdoor person's dream with hiking and bike trails, as well as swimming, sightseeing, fall color touring, and winter sports. Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes National Park; extensive trail systems; and the Interlochen Academy, home to music and cultural festivals, add to a rich palate of activities.

A few problems that you can correct. The ceiling light in the living room was burned out. The entertainment center had allot of dust and also had spilled pop or something on the front of it (very dirty). And a DVD player instead of a outdated VCR would have been nice. We brought movies but couldn't play them. The acorns on the outside steps were a hazard to take the garbage out. The windows were hard to open for fresh air, and needed windex. Not enough kitchen towels. Mine stayed wet the whole time. Also, a full length mirror is needed. Behind the bathroom door would be a good place. The couch was very uncomfortable. I suspect that it is very old and without the use of the bedroom pillows, it would have been impossible to relax on. When I made my reservation I asked if "quaint" shopping is available. Yes there was, but most of the stores were closed for the season. The rooms was "presentable" without going the extra yard. The dust on the entertainment center showed just how often it is NOT cleaned properly. I don't think I would choose HomeAway again.
